Getting pulled over on a bike...

So, Kenzieann and I just were riding our bikes back from the taphouse in Ashland, Oregon... We rode by some place where a prom was going on apparently, and I guess a cop was around, because next thing we knew, fucker popped on his shit and pulled us over.

Apparently, we had no lights, no reflectors, or any of that other shit that no self respecting biker would actually have on our bikes, and we ran a stoplight going appx 3mph...

Yep. Pretty sick. We didnt get a ticket, but homie walked up to us saying we were being recorded audiolly and videolly (those were his words... I dont even know if they are legit words haha) Anyways, pretty stupid waste of our time yeah?



Anyone else have fun stories of being pulled over by cops on bicycles?

My buddy got a $130 jaywalking ticket at 8:30 in the morning with absolutely no cars around trying to get to class on time, and a bike cop pulled him over. I'm not one to say "fuck the pOlice" and such but that's a little ridiculous.

my friend got pulled over jay walking on his bike at 3am in boulder, almost got a dui, but they just gave him an mip. its now a law in boulder, you have to have some sort of light when biking at night because theres also a death every year from someone getting hit by a car

Mostly just getting kicked out of spots. I haven't had reflectors or anything of the sort since I was like 8.

Never got arrested or ticketed. It was mostly them bitching about destroying property and trespassing and all that. The post office this one time cop was a douche cause it's federal property but nothing crazy went down.

I would bike home from the pub every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night a few years ago. Whenever a cop approach use I'd just would you say would you rather us bike or drive.

They just walked off always after that.

yeah.. West Linn Oregon can suck from time to time. i was on my butt cause i twisted my ankle and im going down this hill back home.. when this cop lights up gets behind me and im thinking ok... she gets on her PA and tells me to pull over. so i pull over.. she then says please remain seated... im like ok.... now to be fair. this was during a time when i was a shit-head. and it just so happened that this bull dyke cop i had mouthed off to so when i saw it was her. i was like. SHIT. so she walked up with her flashlight in my eyes, and askes me why she pulled me over... i say . I have not a freaking clue.. she gives me a sour look. ,, you got no lights on your board. you need to walk that home or i will take it from you. i say.. are you serious..she goes. YES. i will take your board and you will have to pay to get it out.. so i get up and start hobbling home. and the bitch fallowed me for a good 100 yards.

couple years ago I was riding home about 10-11pm on a Saturday and there was a DUI or something on the road up ahead. I get on the sidewalk to pass by and one of the cops comes up and stops me. After a bunch of bullshit coming out of his mouth I get 3 tickets; one for no light, one for being on the sidewalk, and one for no bell. I was so pissed.  I had to get on the sidewalk to avoid their whole block  then get a ticket for that. and I even had a bell! the fucker said "It wasn't working properly". Seriously. The bell on my bicycle was deemed in poor condition and not working to it's full extent so I got a ticket for it. But I took that shit to the city and got the bell and no lights ticket taken away. Still had to pay the riding on the sidewalk though.

Never been pulled over, but a cop rolled down his window to tell me to stop at stop signs and to ride with my hands on the handlebars..but I agree, lights are a good idea if you have them.

good thing you didn't move to missoula sean, the first month i was here i got pulled over about 8 times for the same exact infractions you just stated.

The funny thing is is that i've never been pulled over drunk on my bike. so no i never ride my bike sober and I haven't been pulled over since. it gets a little awkward when I have to shotgun beers before 8 am so I can be drunk enough to ride my bike to school, but I'm really afraid of the cops.

the whole "DUI on a bike" is SO fucking stupid. people ride bikes places so they don't have to drunk drive and risk others' lives. am I gonna get a DUI for cruising around on a skateboard now? protect and serve my ass

I rode through a stop light at like 1 am on m way home from the bar once. was barely buzzed and the only car I saw comming was two blocks away so I rode through. a few blocks later a cop rolls up besides me and tells me to pull over. he was just being a dick trying to bust me and give me a bui and probably a traffic violation. But he probably realized that I wasn't drunk enough to hand me a ticket so he rolled off and i continued to my place 100 yards away. SHIT WAS WACK

I got kicked off the sky train yesterday with my bike after riding some trails cause the guy decided i was to muddy and i was gonna make a mess. he then proceded to explain how he wasnt my mother and wasnt gonna clean up my mess. I hate vancouver transit!
