what happened to one of the best freeski photograpghers that rose from the east coast? seems he dissappeared with travis heed, Freeze ....maybe they have been on a 4 year photo shoot and they are about to blow the doors of the ski world...seriously though, jeff was like an ambassador for freeskiing in the east coast, he was the spotlight that shined on the ice coast, without him freeskier magazine runs the worst photos of other peoples sessions, all from one lens.  if they have ever run an east coaster pic it was nothing compared to what jeff would have shot. i guess/rant

Jeff was an old factory worker at Line back in the day and was certainly one of the best photographers that shed a lot of light on east coast talent.

Not sure but last we heard he was a soccer coach and not shooting. He's a sweet oldschool shot of the first ever published handrail slide in Freeze circa 1998 shot by Jeff!

I believe Winterton is living the family life these days.  I'm not sure if any of you know that he was the first dude sending 100 foot cliffs in Alta.  His nickname was Huckerton and he's had more than a few published shots of him sending huge cliff drops.

really nice guy too, i broke my arm at a competition at mt snow way back in the day and he was the first guy to help me. the park rangers did nothing and winterton brought me down and found some patrol when i had never even met him before.

There wouldn't have been a Level 1 without Jeff Winterton...

Pretty much the man.

He got married and had a couple kids, and is now coaching soccer back in Mass.

someone should dig up these pics of him sending, winterton worked his ass off as a photographer/publisist/athlete manager...

Epic Winterton photos from back in the day, definitely pioneered urban photography. I even remember one of Mr Berman sliding an urban back east pre knee injury in Freeze.

Winternuts was one the best ski photographers from like 1999 through 2005.

homeboy definitely left his mark on the the way the sport progressed. without a doubt. it wouldn't have gone down the way it did without him.

Winterton is the fucking man! He was a huge inspiration to me as well as many other east coast kids who used to feel stuck on the ice coast. Glad he's getting to spend more time with the fam but damn I miss having him around. Such a good guy.
