When are you planning to arrive? It's really difficult to say as it depends a lot on time of year etc not to mention luck. It took me a month of looking but I know people who found work quicker and others who ran out of cash before they found anything. I'd highly recommend you have enough contingency cash to keep you going for a while just in case especially as people tend to piss a load up the wall on getting shitfaced/meeting peope when they first get in town.
Going to the job fairs of the ski resorts is a good way to increase your chances although ski resort work generally means less ski time and shittier wages.
I wouldn't get your hopes up for bar work - it tends to be one of the most sought after jobs and in my experience unless you have connections or you are a hot girl your chances are not very high at all. There are plenty of other jobs that will give you plenty of ski time though, eg hotels/restaurants usually have plenty of evening/night shifts. I work a lot of nights and skiied 130+ days last year and i'm not far off that this year. The big hotels would be a good place to start - the Banff Springs hires a shitload of people every year.
