just wanted to know why rossignol stopped making the fks for a while. ALso when did they stop making them. just curious cuz i might be buying last years fks 180L and wanted to know if it would be a good purchase or if last years fks bindings arent as good
Well your first two questions don't have anything to do with the new FKS bindings. Last years and this years are the same. The old FKS are just as good, but that's not your real question.
They stopped for winter 07/08 and 08/09 due to financial reasons. Turns out it was for the best because everyone now thinks they are the "best" bindings out there and they are selling pretty well. All FKS and Pivot heels have always been the same besides the re-release ones having wider brakes. Before about 2003 they had the older Geze-style toe. Between 2003 to 06/07 most had the all-metal race toe except the FKS 120 which had a composite vertical release toe. Since 07/08 the 14 DIN versions have had the composite toe and the 18 DINs have the race toe. Some Rossi versions now come with optional toe risers to give you zero ramp.
