not me personally, but this kid in my second period got like 2 in one game of football and has had alot of them and had to learn to read again, he says when he would look at words they would start to shake a little and couldnt make them out
I don't think I've had too many, but I've enough little ones and one monstrous one, that I can confidently say I've never been the same since. Now I just wear Full90 headgear if I play contact sports like soccer or Ultimate
i have had several from lacrosse, after the worst one i had i could not read fast, i studdered and i felt generally slower. it has gotten a little better but still notice the difference
i've had two moderate ones, one was about a month ago. most concussions can be healed fully IF the person gives proper time for it to heal. this could take two weeks, or two months, but a good portion of the people who don't heal from a concussion are people who don't give rest it, and go back too early.
couldnt ski or do anything physical from january-april last year because of two untreated concussions.
ive had probalby 4-5 serious ones in my life and they catch up on you.
I got post concussion syndrome really bad and shit sucks.
trust me, concussions are serious and if you think you may have gotten one, get checked out
i've definitely gotten dumber over the years. i used to do a good amount of drugs, and used to blaze daily, shit didnt phase me, still crushed it in school. had a few serious concussions since then, like real serious, and school had definitely gotten a million times harder. i cant remember fuck all and i dont pick things up as quickly anymore at all.
my brain is fucked up. Everything in my vision shakes for a couple seconds and i feel like im gonna have a seizure or pass out. A little knock to the head fucked me up.
Okay I know some people are gonna be like Soccer, that's pussy shit, yeah well I'm the fucking goalkeeper, tell me I'm a pussy when I the one taking the shots, or stopping break aways. Ultimate is not defined as a contact sport, but since I play club in college there is a lot of potential contact between you and other players, especially when you bid or lay out.
I think the new restrictions on head injuries are great, but it's sad when professionals put their sport in front of their personal health.
I've had 3 and no noticeable effects however I have a friend that's had 5 or 6 bad ones and we could have done something cool in the morning and if I see him later that day he will try and tell me about this cool thing he did earlier.. It's messed up how badly it can effect ur memory. It's so common with him we have to remind him regularly. Scary shit
I've also had 7 and it sucks. I can't ski park anymore, I have memory problems and an extremely slow processing speed now. (All of this was established by tests at the doctors.) There were a lot more problems they found because of it too. I forget what they were though. Haha, funny but true.
you cant seriously consider soccer and ultimate contact sports? regardless of if you play goalie, you're not stopping shots with your head, you have hands for a reason.
go try and last 5 minutes in a box lacrosse or hockey game, if you think soccer and ultimate are rough you would fucking die in either of those.
I've had two this lax season, one in preseason and the next one the game i got back. My whole season has consisted of half a game (and one goal). I'm seeing the doctor today and hopefully getting cleared again
Nice that they're being careful about it though. Too many times people got sent back in that should have. Getting rocked twice in a day is really no good.
Ive had 6 concussions total and the last one I got 3 months ago was the worst by far. minus the injuries I received, I now get headaches almost every day and my short term memory is shot. I honestly couldnt tell you what I did two days ago. And because of this, I have a tendancy to repeat my stories because i forgot that ive told them before.
But honestly, i've had 3 major concussions and they are a serious thing. One of them i went to the hospital to get checked out due to excessive throwing up.
So, think twice about how much these sports actually mean that are causing your BRAIN to be dull and hazy like that, it may not be worth it in the future.
For sure. My dome is strugglin. The mix of concussions and some fun times that got out of control and didn't end well has my head hatin me.
Even before the last few and some other stuff I was advised to stop dangerous physical activities. One of the last ones was one of the nice head smashes where it sounds like a bomb going off but you don't go out.
I get really bad headaches when i wake up for the first couple hours until i get going, then i have a real tough time sleeping, but once im out i could sleep forever. I have trouble with thermoregulation. I tend to overheat really easily so i gots ta stay hydrated and try not to die in the summer.
I do where a helmet usually though. Well I usually bring a helmet to the mountain at least
Hell yeah man i feel you on that one. I had to stop physical activity not only because of concussions but i am also suffering with DDD, which is degenerative disk disease. It has caused me to rupture and herniate C-3,C-4 in my neck. In a way, i don't mind it but it just sucks knowing that i am the athletic type of person and i can't really pursue some of the things i planned for the future, but it's okay because change is sometimes good, especially if it's a good one for your future.
Along with the concussions, and mixture of some other things in life, i would have to agree with you that my dome is also struggling.Rarely do i ever wake up with headaches, but i do have trouble sleeping. I will be honest with you that some of the psychedelics may be a reason for them, i've been doing a little bit too much experimenting, and i'm pretty sure you know exactly what i am talking about. I'll make it through but it just goes to show you that this type of shit is serious and you may need medical attention than everyone else would like to believe.
I got a bad concussion last fall. Smashed my head on a rock while mt biking. Me helmet was toast, but luckily i had it. I was messed up for about a week and a half. But no effects anymore.
Lol it never made sence to me iv had my fare share of severe concusions and cant take a test to save my life that might be my problem. or the weed idk anymore lol
Haha damn man that sucks, well the first step to changing your life is to actually do it. If your noticing a change in yourself why would you keep doing the things your doing? People do not make sense to me these days.
I mean it could just be all those paint fumes through your nostrils, it may not be the smartest idea to post pictures of your tagging name and making people aware that you tag, especially if you have some pending charges about it, or did. Ever think that the cops may be onto you? Not worth it to be catching charges these days. The governments and court systems are rather serious these days, i caught a serious charge way back in the day and i promise you i will never catch another one.
Not calling you out in anyway, just use that knowledge my man someday that hard work will in fact pay off.
