i throughly enjoyed this infotainment. the ending was ridiculous, cancer free. shit man. I'm still a firm believer that the only reason doctors won't start using it is because they can't patent the drug.

I am undecided when it comes to the legalization of pot for recreational use but i can say that pot should be legalized for medicinal use, with regulation so not every pot head who claims their eye hurts can get some but rather pot for severely ill patience like this kid.

to be honest, i would personally like to see marijuana, extacy, shrooms, acid, and cocaine legalized. If we're free inthis country, we should be able to do whatever we want.


Back to the topic, i think that medicinal use of cannabis saved this kid, and should be looked at in a more serious way.

hate to do this but its basically the inevitable direction of this thread, why are you unsure on legalization? knowing that it is less damaging and addicting than cigarettes or alcohol, and that it costs a lot of money to enforce marijuana laws, and that it could be taxed, i really don't see what the argument against legalization is

but even still. the doctors were convinced that this kid was going to die on the bed and what do you know, cancer free. while it isn't the cure it sure can help.

I was diagnosed with a non-curable condition of the central nervous system when I was 17 that basically makes your nerves misfire and causes a lot of pain and a lot of other complications. I've been fighting tumors in my lower back since last Feb that may or may not be related... they don't really know.

So I approve for medical purposes but I don't smoke myself. Just not my thing.

I would go to any lengths to save my kid, I also live in Washington and even though marijuana is legal for health reasons in our state the fucking goverment is sticking there nose in our state trying to shut down all the dispensers. Qur state voted it in, and now the goverment is trying to shut it down.

It's pretty fucking ridiculous for the government to tell people what they can and can't do with their body. Somebody smoking isn't going to hurt you. Honestly it's not hurting them either but we won't go there. Should the government tell fat people they can't eat fast foods? How far should it go? I mean alcohol is legal and far more dangerous than marijuana. But besides that, since it wasn't really the angle I'm going for...


Marijuana prohibition is retarded. It hasn't kept people from smoking it, it hasn't made it disappear. Where has it gotten us. We spend 50 billion a year on the drug war. We put 10s of thousands of people in jail every year for non violent drug offenses.


That's all fine though but you can be against the idea that people should be able to do what ever they want with their body. I think that's a big fuck you to the constitution and pretty ridiculous, but whatever. Here's an angle for that...


Even if you believe that marijuana is an evil drug and should not be used by anyone, blah blah blah. Drug prohibition doesn't work. IT failed hard for alcohol prohibition. We need to learn from our past mistakes in history, not continue the same faulty ideas. Alcohol prohibition didn't even come close to getting rid of alcohol. It brought in organized crime, gangs with machine guns, had people selling ghetto ass bathtub gin, put not violent people in jail. Same thing happened with drug prohibition. IF you get into the economics of it... Prohibition made drugs a crime, making them illegal sent them to the black market, plenty of room for profits to be made here. You raise the penalties even higher to make people more likely to stop, all you do is raise the price of the drugs which creates more money to be made. Every time you arrest a dealer, it opens a window for 5 more guys to fight to fill that void. It's like a tree dying in the rain forest, that spot doesn't sit there vacant for long. A whole bunch of plants try to fight there way up to get the sunlight now open. As long as drugs are illegal, there will be money to be made, and no shortage of people trying to get rich. For gangs this is the perfect opportunity. Sell drugs, profit$$$$$ huge, buy weapons. Shoot the piss out of rival gangs for moving into your turf.


Then the other angle of HEMP and industrial application. The energy problems we're seeing today should make us more likely to start using hemp. Instead we're getting shitty alternatives like corn ethanol. There is a breed of hemp plants made specifically for biofuel. We could start growing it to offset our oil dependence. Start using it for paper, hemp fiber paneling. Henry ford knew what was up when he built the model T. Hemp paper lasts for fucking forever, like the declaration of independence. Yields better and grows annually.

Our founding fathers, presidents, all kinds of people back in the day grew hemp and used it, many smoked it. So why is it a big deal for somebody who wants to get high after work? How does that hurt you?

This story further proves the strength and miracle type qualities of cannabis.

My roommate who is a bio major was telling me about how a few bio engineers have developed a method of directing cannabis to kill cancer cells. In fact it was 100 percent successful in a rat. Whether that is a credible source or not I do not know, use you schools database to tell me otherwise. Anyways.

The fact that cannabinoids have been proven in rats to isolate and destroy cancer cells is absolutely mind blowing. A half bit news story about a kid being completely cancer free after using hash oil further supports this very ridiculous scientific claim. Any further proof of cannabinoids destroying or aiding in the destruction of cancer cells is 2012 worthy.( in the opposite spectrum)

marijuana will never be a cancer treatment. you ingest significantly more carcinogens then potential anti cancer agents.

I don't know what the hell the rest of that means but carcinogens are produced by burning matter, if you don't burn it, no carcinogens. Correct me if im wrong.

They tested it in a tube first, Eliminating 100% of the cancer, It was 30% successful in eliminating 100% of melignant cells in rats. In the remaining 70%, the cells were significantly reduced.

one of the main reasons i think they havnt legalized it is the thc in the weed that is helped the kid eat and thc is legal my friend rencently became cancer free over a year ago he was diagnoised with lukemia and about half way through his kemo they started giving him thc pills to help him eat.. he said it gets you the same high as smoking but yet its perfectly legal for you to use it so the medical use of weed is sort of pointless i think.. dont get me wrong i smoke all the time i love it but for medical use if your smoking it it just isnt good for you but like oil i believe should be fine as this guy did to help his kid

I dont know if there is any scientific backing to this but I believe that even if a synthetic substance is chemically identical to a natural one It still will not be as effective.

actually the common complaint about marinol is that it is wayyy too strong but doesn't last very long. pretty much knocks patients on their ass then their still in pain after an hour or two
