Skrillex.. Is it worth it?

Today i realized that skrillex is touring not too far from me, I have never seen him live and I would rather not waiste my money if his live performances are'nt anything special. I have appreciation for his music but it seems that he uses a repiditive sound a lot more than any other artist i've been following recently.
So the question is.. Save up for a Camp Bisco ticket or spend another 25 dollars to catch him live?

Who has seen him live before?

Naw just someone who's seen it all. I live in Boulder, and I've seen just about every dubstep show you'll want to ee. I like dubstep remixes well intertwined with heavy womp. Not remixed song, then nothing just shitty sounding womp, back to remixed song. you GTFO, as I stated ya'll know nothing.

Saying we know nothing about dubstep, but you dont even know skream, one of the biggest name in the dubstep scene. skrillex is an awful dj, dont be so ignorant and get learned.
Everyone likes skrillex because its trendy and his music will be dead in a year, instead of dmz, skream, hatcher, pinch or benga's dubstep will last forever.

I know its not an easy thing to do, as everyone is going to have different ideas on what they would call "music" within dubstep, but as a guide...kick on 1st + snare on 3rd + bassline isn't what were after. As ironic as that is."

Its more the fact I don't want to deal with arguing with an ignoramus. Clearly Im not going to change your opinion, and you're clearly not going to change mine. Music is subjective. You hated on something I and many others who follow this genre enjoy. So I returned with my own.

My point about living in CO, is that I get to see lots of acts live. I decipher my final opinions on an artist by the show they put on and their performance. Im sorry that after having danced to the exact same wobble line for 5 mins I get bored. Like in the following songs.





my opinions on these songs... Long, boring, meandering, and repetitive. Im glad you like to listen to the most simplistic electronic music. But don't trash well put together music like the following.

Actually he is an amazing dj. I've been to at least 15 parties with him djing. But when it comes to the stuff he makes its kind of whatever. He is very smart though and knows what most people in that scene want to hear. I'd say if a lot of your friends are going it could be fun. I personally dont think its that amazing to watch.

Not worth it!!!! I've seen Skrillex like 10 times now, and haven't been very impressed any of the times. He's a fucking doosh and bringing heavy metal/punk rock scum to the dubstep/rave scene. By producing dubstep and electro house, he's able to top the beatport charts in both genres. It's like some of the grungiest of dubstep....I find borgore more enjoyable and people say he ruined dubstep and has his own genre (gorestep?). Anyways....

Don't waste your time, find a better DJ to spend your money on.

wow, you just made yourself look like an ass. skream and benga are way better, and are on a completely different level. both of those dj's have way more experience than skrillex, and don't add in a bunch of electro house bullshit to their sets(making them better DUBSTEP dj's by default)...and look at their releases...prove that skrillex is better than skream or benga, and i'll paypal you 100 bucks, you ratard.

It's not just the fact that he looks like he's sponsored by hot topic, it's the fact that he's bringing shitty people into the scene. (junkies and punkrock bullshit)

Last skrillex show I was at, the crowd turned into a Mosh Pit and people were beating each other and shit. (Keep in mind that I have seen almost every major dubstep producer/dj live, most of them several times, and this was a first for me.)

Fuck Skrillex, Go back to screaming in your closet.

Yeah that kinda happened at the show I was at too. Basically the vibe of a metal concert. Totally different than the Dada Life show I went to, where everyone had fucking massive smiles on their faces and the show was basically an intense happy/stoked vibe, not an "I want to punch every motherfucker here for the fun of it" vibe.

Sure I like more "electro" sounding dubstep, but who the fuck cares? Its people like you that ruin dubstep claiming the only true dubstep is the boring producers that began the genre. Skrillex isn't a better DJ than those you've stated. BUT he is a better producer. He caters to a different scene. You can call it "brostep," but Im just glad hot rave chicks show up to the shows maled up and ready to grind on my dick for 4 hours.

The only statement I'll retract is that you don't know anything. You do. Its just you have some stupid hipster mentality of how you THINK dubstep should be, and nothing else is acceptable. That pissed me off and I aimed to offend.

This isn't my first rodeo. Its not like I just found out about dubstep through Skrillex. I've listened to it for years now, and listened to its progression. I like where its gone. You don't. Lets leave it at that.

Rusko said it himself he took it there, and the people want it. So what if people want to listen to the heaviest basslines computers can produce? No ones telling you that you have to listen to it. But to bash on the quality of music coming from producers such as Datsik, Excision, Butch Clancy, Flux, Minnesota, etc.. because its to heavy for you makes you sound like a whiny pussy.

Theres a scene for just about every type of every genre, just because you like rock music doesn't mean you have to like death metal. Do you catch my drift?

eg. I like classic rock and various bands from the past 20 years. I do not like heavy metal. I don't however hate on it because it took the whole 4 or 5 piece band making rock music idea, tweaked it, made it their own, and changed rock music into something that sounds like it would raise Satan's spawn form the underworld.

You don't want to hear it? Don't download it, and don't go to shows. Its as simple as that.
