Skrillex.. Is it worth it?

Today i realized that skrillex is touring not too far from me, I have never seen him live and I would rather not waiste my money if his live performances are'nt anything special. I have appreciation for his music but it seems that he uses a repiditive sound a lot more than any other artist i've been following recently.
So the question is.. Save up for a Camp Bisco ticket or spend another 25 dollars to catch him live?

Who has seen him live before?

iight seriously your just being dumb. 1. this could have been made by ANYONE its just a bunch of shitty samples.

2. what your forgetting is that someone stole all of skrillex's shit. his lapptops, hard drives. everything. tons of shit is being released like died this way. even his project files are out so if you have ableton u can see what the hell hes doing. im sure he was just being dumb one day and made this real quick and the guy who stole em upped em.

as for skrillex as a whole, yes its very different. yes its got mid range wobble..whatever. its fucking music and the show would be RAGIN. im going to webster june 6 and OP.. def go

Haha man why are you so damn judgemental? I don't mean to call you out on your shit but jesus. Just because someone likes a different genre of music that you don't have appreciation for doesn't mean you have to disrepect.
The only reason i like Dubstep is because of the vibes and positive energy i feel when i go to raves and catch artists live. I guess you could say its because of the experiences i have had there, but don't hate just appreciate. Your never going to be able to change how people like this genre of music, in fact i bet in the future it'll be ten times more mainstream than it already is right now. So, just turn your back and go the other way, don't judge people just because they like hearing a whomping noise.

Hahahaha ya its so fucking easy... lets see one of you two sample a song together. Mad props to anyone who can use FL or Ableton, its not easy shit. Just because Skrillex is a new genre of dub doesn't mean you gotta hate. It's definitely the way electronica music is going. Dubstep used to be its own show but now you won't find an up and coming artist who doesn't dabble in it. Way to go OP by not listening to NS and buying some tickets, you won't regret it.

Of course. My point was that its not easy to make music, even if you sample. How do you like logic pro though? and if you've used FL studio how would you compare it?

yes thats true. i make movies in final cut pro. i work for a pro photographer and shit. making music is by far the hardest thing to do.

ive used FL studio numerous times and i feel like logic is just way more solid of a program. everything is more stable. its a LOT more organized imo. FL is actually really fun to tool around with and just keep playing mad loops and shit and ill do that live at house parties and shit and just jam with real short like 4 bar licks then change it up.

logic just is a lot more advanced program. the thing is though..you need to know how to use it or your fucked. FL is easy to pick up

i think as it goes, any dubstep concert you go to, you're gonna want to get wasted on something...im not a i massive fan of skrillex but the dubstep concerts i have been to have been sick!

psssh. saw doorly on the 15th of april. he was garbage. and yes, i fucking love doorly. i was more excited for his set than any other set.




and i don't know if its too late, but it's DEFINITELY worth $25. true, he is kinda shitty repetitive dubstep and i'm not the biggest fan of his music, but i saw him back in january and he absolutely blew the venue apart. everyone was going fucking nuts and he had some of the best stage presence of any other performer i've ever seen. plus it was his birthday that night and that just added to the insanity.

have you ever been to a proper tech-house / deep house / minimal show ?

that s just the best, because you dont need to be on drugs to enjoy it, and if you are on drugs, it s just unreal.

Minimal is the shit. I wish there was more of it around these parts. CO is so over saturated with glitch/dubstep. We only have like one venue here that plays that stuff, and its not exactly a well known place.

I hate this thread.

Skrillex is sick. Who the fuck cares if he just stands there. He is an entertainer. If you go you will have an amazing time as long as you get into and don't stand there and talk about how he is just standing there and not a "real" dj or whatever.

If you go to a dubstep show and don't have fun than you either need more drugs or need to stop being so uptight.

same here vancouver is mainly dubstep, but i m from paris and i can tell you paris has one of sweetest house scene. not as cool as berlin but really cool.

Yeah, I haven't made it out to ours, but looking at the pictures, it looks like my kinda place, not full of a bunch of "whompers." Gonna check it out when I can bike there and drink, bein 21 :)

I really want to check out Europe's dance scene. It goes without question that it is way better than around here...

Addison Groove is headhunter is you are familiar... pretty sure that stuff is going to catch on. Its so damn fun to dance to. faster than house/dubstep, but slower than DNB, nice in between and super rhythmic. I've been trying to work it into future garage/ dubstep sets, but its pretty weird to mix in haha

Everything changes, That doesn't mean its bad, or not right, Just different. A lot of people really really like skrillex, so to say it is bad is just ignorant. Say you don't like it.
