Mine dont fir and I need a new pair. I found a pair of FT classic's that arent to bad for the price. Something for mainly park but can be for everything ese. I also ave a wide foot. Thanks.
first of all, generally a wide fot =/= full tilts. they fit skinny. and they do not eliminate shinbang, they help prevent it. go get fitted at a shop, and buy the boots that fit you best. those will be the ones that hurt the least and reduce shinbang.
The o.ly reasonable solution is to find somewhere to try them on, even if that means traveling with out boots and buying them where ever u end up going. Look online, call a few shops around ur destination, and see if they still have a reasonable selection of boots, then get a proper fit. U may end up getting lucky and buying boots online that fit, but its a much higher probability that ur gonna buy boots that don't fit ur foot for shit, and end up wasting whatever money u spend.
Where are you skiing this summer? If your coming to whistler we may hopefully have the 2012 SPKS in stock for the camps. Could come try them on see how they fit.
Im hoping to get a size run of the SPK Pro, SPK 95 and SPK 85 for the summer. If there is demand on here it may help. You can get them profesionaly fitted for no extra charge too. I will keep NS updated on whether we get them or not.
Whatever boots you get, get a booster strap too. It is more comfortable, prevents shinbang alot, and makes me feel like a better skier, especially outside the park
MAKE SURE YOU TRY THEM ON BEFORE YOU BUY. If you have a wider foot look into the SPK series. Personally I hate my Salomon Kreations because they're way too wide on my foot cuz i bought them on line without trying them on. Everybody else that i know loves theirs. Just make sure they fit
just because the boots may fit around the toe box doesn't mean they will fit everywhere else on his foot, there is more to fitting a ski boot than the width of somebody's toes
^ not always, a good boot fitter will be able to give some advice with pretty basic info about the feet. I agree most people here have no idea, but there are a few of us who can give decet advice.
^about fixing a certain problem, when proper documentaion is given, but without seeing somone's feet, I don't care how good of a boot fitter some one is, they can't give proper advice. Sure there may be the rare occasion when someone says I tried on this boot, and this is exactly how it felt, are there zny suggestions on which other boots I should try? Then yeah, any bott fitter that is familiar with those boots may have a good suggestion, but to say that u can give the op in a thread like this legit advice about what boot is gonna fit him best if a fucking joke.
If sombody simply has a ruler then can measure there forfoot, and length and also the hight to the top of the navicular bone. These 3 simple things would tell a boot fitter much of what is needed. Then its a case of trying the sujested boots and geting the appropiate footbeds when getting the boots fitted. Trust me when you have seen thousands of feet its pretty easy to get an idea of shape from just a few simple measurments over the internet. Obviously going to a bootfitter is still needed but at least you would have some ideas about what may fit.
I agree that you can't give 100% perfect advice without seeing someone's actual foot in the actual shell, but it would be a mistake to say that boot-fitters cannot give valuable advice on-line. I've definitely helped kids on here without seeing their feet. There are certain, typical problems where an easy solution can be recommended given the cause & effect patterns that exist with feet and ski boots. At the very least, we can help direct someone to a solution if we are unable to fully provide it.
