Alpine Meadows:
Is planning on Fanfest over the Fourth of July weekend
and will re-open Friday July 2 – Sunday July 4. With over 72ft having
been dropped onto the mountain, there should be some left come July 4.
Arapahoe Basin:
The Basin’s lift will be spinning 7 days a week until June 5, on their
current 94″ base and then the following two weekends, Friday – Sunday. Here’s the whole Spring & Summer schedule.
Aspen:
You can add Aspen to this list of ski areas open for Memorial Day Weekend! With cool temps & an abundance of snow, Aspen brings back the powder to the people.
Boreal:
Will re-open June 20- 24 for skiing and snowboarding camps.
The camp will be led by Professional Dylan Omlin, who’s also the
Director of the Auburn Ski Club. Campers will have the opportunity to
throw some air in the super pipe, try some new tricks in the terrain
park or hit Boreal’s newest training tool, the Bagjump.
Mammoth Mountain
Will be running the lifts daily until July 4. Mammoth is still getting snow as 20″ new have blanketed their slopes since Sunday.
Snowbird:
Re-opens for the last two weekends in May and will operate Friday – Sunday for skiing & snowboarding. Check out the lifts that will be running. Conditions should be great still as they have a 177″ mid-mountain base and have received 18″ in the last 48hrs.
Squaw Valley:
Will be open this weekend, Friday May 20 – Sunday May 22 and also Friday May 27 – Monday May 30. See Squaw’s lift schedule.
Conditions are still fantastic as over 30″ have fallen on the upper
mountain in the past week. The base is still looking good with 55″ @
6,200ft & 175″ @ 8,200ft.
Still thinking about the epic snow season? Well, here’s a list of Ski Areas that are still open in some capacity. Some will be closing at the end of May, but others will be open in June and the usual suspects will try to stay open until July 4. I’ve listed some the snowpack bases, which would be very good for mid season quantities, let alone coming up on the end of May. Also, all these areas have had decent snowfall totals in the last 5 days, so this weekend maybe the last hurrah in terms of getting some freshies in Winter 2010-11.
