God damnit, I am not even a conspiracy theorist. I think that tupac and biggie are dead, I know that we landed on the moon, I never thought 9-11 was an inside job, any of that other conspiracy bullshit.
But I think that if we had taken Osama dead (which I am almost positive we did), we would have done exactly what we are doing.
I believe there is a 0% chance that he is alive and free, we would never make a false report claiming he is no longer a threat to us if he could easily make a video the next week proving he is still at large.
BUT, if we were to take him alive, I would think that there would be a decent chance that we would still act like he is dead. If we were to publicly take him alive, there would not only be a long and public trial process for him to reach his followers on such a public platform, there would be restrictions on what kind of methods we could use to extract info, ACLU and Amnesty International breathing down our backs, and tons of terrorist hostage situations demanding his release.
The thing is, unlike most conspiracy theories and most conspiracy theorists, I would not be upset in the least if the conspiracy were true. If we took him alive I would hope that we would tell the world he were dead. Think about the kind of shitstorm that would be going on right now if he were alive and we all knew about it. We would give him a microphone to testify durring trial to spew his hate, we would give him rights he doesn't deserve, and we would give his people an excuse to hold people hostage.
