RUMOR. Osama Bin Laden is dead and US has the body

Apparently this just happened. Obama is planning to deliver "Unusual Sunday Evening Statement."

It was supposed to start at 10:30. and says beginning shortly right now in the live video. Im waiting to see if this is true. Heres the link to the video

the USA just killed the most wanted man in the world and the emotional center of the radical islam. they gave him the option to surrender and he didn't...he got what he deserved, i don't think he would ever "answer for his crimes" even if we had captured him alive

I have a feelin they didn't use the big one on the left, or anything close. That wouldn't be too useful in a firefight, like this seemed to be, or an extraction operation, as it was INTENDED TO BE. I have a feeling, since they were navy seals, they were rockin your standard m4 rifles here, which dont exactly spray anything bigger than a AAA battery...



all in all, seeing as Obama's DEAD already, this mission was a failure... soooo stop being so stoked.

I'm sure most red blooded americans would have rather had him tied to a chair in the middle of FedEx field in Washington DC, or something, and stoned to death like normal... 911 victim's families the ones getting to throw first obv.

plus I think he would have killed himself before they could take him alive. apparently he fought back too, and they were using a woman as a shield, she was also killed. I don't think those guys went in there with any intention of bringing anyone but themselves out alive.

The mission should have been to apprehend, disarm, and take hostage, then get to some sort of extraction point. Ghost recon, bitches.

Seeing as, it seems like A: we killed Osama in action, and then lost a very pricy helicopter in the operation, shit didn't go exactly as planned lol.

not true, it was clearly supposed to be a kill mission. Every new source i've seen has said it (one example http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/02/binladen-kill-idUSN027979420110502) but i do believe that we should have captured him so we could get information and also do what u mentioned to hit him back

We should have just assembled a super squad with the Ghosts, Sam Fisher, and Solid Snake. Motherfucker wouldn't have even had a chance to take a hostage, he would have been in a helicopter on the way home before he could even say durka durka.

it was probably one amongst many random shell casings. I wonder if the shooter actually saw the round hit him, or if it was more like they all stopped shooting, and when checking bodies they noticed they dropped him.

I agree. I give many, many props to the spec ops team that stormed his compound and killed him. They have been planning this mission since last august. That must of been one hell of a secret to not tell.

I can say with a lot of confidence that if there was somebody who had information that could prevent an attack that was going to happen within a week, we would torture the shit out of them, you just wouldn't hear about it.... and I am kinda fine with that.

http://www.iraqbodycount.org/ the problem with the statistics you provided is they were gathered by people asking afghani citizens how many people they knew that had been killed. Two problems with this method, one is they have every reason to say more than actually died, two there were overlaps of people killed. Two people could know the same person that died and therefore that one person actually looked like 2 to the survey you were talking about. the website i listed was the only one that has actually been there taking actual body counts

there are obviously problems with both methods, and no they are not going to "give" their bodies to the US, however they are going to report the incidents.. think, when someone dies of violence in the US people find out about it, thats not something that is kept secret

Funny how I heard out about this.
I was trying to fall asleep when I hear a knock at my dorm room door. I ask, "Who is it?" but get no reply. I unlock the door and open it to find my friend with my white polo shirt I had given him on Friday for a highlighter dance. He is from China so his English is not the best, but he said "Bwad, did you hear Obama Speech?"
I said, "No Jue, what happened?"
Jue-"Osama Bin Laden is dead"
Me-"What!? No way! Wow, okay thanks Jue see you later"

Then I got an email from my Mom this morning reminding me not to get distracted by the news...
Then in Religion class today my Prof reminded me of the honor/shame society that is the Middle East, and that they are going to want revenge.

They did it with Hitler, Al-Zarqawi, With Escobar they had to basically parade him around the streets of Columbia so that people would believe he was actually killed. If they don't want the biggest conspiracy craze since JFK, they will release a picture.

I have seen it, it has been posted here on NS. It is clearly photoshopped, and has been online for 2 years. There is another picture that shows that the bottom half of the face in that picture was taken from a picture of Osama and put over the bottom half of a face of another middle eastern person. The white house has also said that all pictures online right now are fake, and that they have not made a decision as to whether or not they should release the real pictures.

Nope, your realistic. And they "buried" the body at sea = we are neever going to see a body. Just a few simple words surely can lift the spirit of a country and since it was black op's there is noone to talk about the mission but the higher up's. Mission could have easily not existed.
