Help with spring break out west.

It's pretty much definite I'll be going out west for some if not all of my 9 day spring break next year.  I'm obviously not going to planning anything for a while what i do need to figure out is how much money to set aside.  If you've done the same how much did it cost total, were there any deals or packages to look out for?

I'll take suggestions on resorts too, My priories as such : 1)Pow 2)Bars/nightlife 3)Park

well, the west coast is kinda a really vast area. like do you want to come up to canada or stay in the states? get a little bit more specific.

How much money you spend kinds depends on how much your trying to spend. Its possible to take a trip out west for incredibly cheap if you really bum it, but its also easy to blow way more money than you wanted to. I've taken two week long trips out west, one to Utah and one to Tahoe. When I wen't to Utah I think I managed to keep it under a grand for the whole week, but that was with splitting the hotel with 2 other people, and free tickets at brighton because of my season pass back east.

When I went to Tahoe, I didn't have to pay for lodging or plane tickets (I drove out, and then my parents just randomly told me they would pay for the flight back), but I easily spent at least $1500, I really have no idea how much exactly but I was pretty irresponsible with my credit cart, it was awesome and totally worth it.

The point is, its up to you. I would say at a minimum, if your going to pay for lift tickets, hotel, flights, and a rental car, its probably going to cost more than $1000. I would recommend Utah, because there is awesome public transportation, at least to LCC/BCC, not so much for the Park City area, and you don't need to rent a car. Lift tickets at PC are also a lot more expensive than those places. If you stay at the extended stay america in Sandy, the bus stops right in front of it, and a room there is like $50 a night for two double beds, a tv, a bathroom and a full kitchen.

Sorry for the lack of info, there will be four of us for splitting the hotel, as far as a car I was kinda hoping to get around with public transportation. Guess I sort of envisioned like a small town at the bottom of the resort with everything we need right there, sort of like Mt. Tremblant Quebec.

Other than that I'm really just trying to go somewhere where I can find the best pow and most fun nightlife possible for the least amount of money. So I'm open to suggestions.

You mentioned your season pass from the east, I'l def have a 7springs pass, don't suppose that will get me anywhere?

go to the canyons, i went this spring break, (i go to PSU too) and it's a great fucking base camp to work out of for skiing. we had a bomb ass 16 inch day our first day there, drove to solitude the second day for a sick 30+inch bluebird pow day, then had epic park days with our choice of the canyons or PC to ski at. as for money, you can do the whole trip for well under a thousand dollars with enough people to split the room up, flights were about 300 total.

Whistler, seem to be a good choice. Nice terrain, pow, and park. Plus they have a sick village and nightlife

skithesprings - that was pretty sick, show that tree whos boss. I'll def check that out canyon n'at. How did you get around rental car or was the public tran good enough?

and as far as whistler I figured that would be mad money, but def a destination I wanna hit.

Any shout outs from alta or others?

theres a free bus between the canyons and PC but our ride to solitude was a local friend.

btw, PC has pretty good night life if thats up there on your list of priorities. I'm not of bar age but after skiing all day i wasn't really in the mood to do anything but blaze and eat a ton of food.

save up as much money as you can and be really cheap and poor sounding, then next spring break, go on your trip and do whatever the fuck you want. live like a king its a sick idea
