So I am planning on changing my name to "evan" so I searched the name and saw this: https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/members/profile/member_id/6621/

Hasn't logged in since 2002, has 26 posts, and 0 karma. This is what is preventing me from having the name.

I think there should be a system in place so after a certain amount of time user profiles get deleted and the username becomes available. I'm not talking like a year or two for two, but like 6 or 7. This would free up new names and stop people from having to make there names things like *steezyignantghettoskijibber164805".

People made shitty usernames back in the early days too.

Seriously, evan is going to log back in sometime soon, he needs his account more than you need a new username.

um well i havent really thought that far ahead yet, i guess there could be like an option when you make an account "after 8 years, this account will be automatically deleted. check if this is okay" lol

Use some periods. Almost every site the original usernames get used first, no point in deleting because you never know they may come back.

The same thing happened to me, I wanted to change my name to 'Brodeo', but that one was already taken as well. Brodeo hasn't logged in since February 12th 2003, he has 4 posts and 1 Karma, I really doubt he will be back. Brodeo6 worked though.
