I am sorry everybody, the answer is 1.

6/2(1+2)

You need to use PEMDAS = Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Adding, then Subtraction.

1+2 = 3

Now the equation is 6/2(3)

Then you do 2*3 because Multiplication comes before Division.

2*3 = 6

Then 6/6 =1

Next time you talk shit, make sure you can back it up.

parantheses first, then after that you go in order if it only multiplacation/division.

just like if you're doing 8-2+3, that isn't 8-5=3 , it's 8-2+3 in order which is 9. you dont do the addition before the subtraction, like you dont do multiplication before division.

ummm... no ?

PEMDAS is used like this. Parentheses and Exponents go together. Multiplication and division go together. when they are they only two left in equation, you do it in order from left to right.

Next time you talk shit make sure you can back it up.

This is so dumb. It is so unclear in the way it is always presented. Is it (6/2)*(1+2) or 6/(2*(1+2))? No one has yet given me a clear answer to this.

If a number in parentheses (3) is besides another number out of parentheses (in this case, 3 again), they are multiplied. This is like Grade 9 stuff guys, come on...

It's a bit like with Algerbra.. The * isn't actually used.

6/2 is simply a fraction which is 3, so there's no need to worry about that (1+2) = 3.

So 3*3 = 9.

Why are people getting 1 exactly? (1+2) is the first thing to be done, then 6/2 is just a top heavy fraction for 3.. So it should be 3 then 3*3 = 9. :s.

There's no multiplication, no dividing, no adding or substracting markings anywhere. This is a flawed problem if I've ever seen one.
