yeah, but he's not fucking andreas or russ, they're completely different. Dumont has been in the game for a long time, since he was like 15, being under the constant stress of competition. God forbid he's a little tired or sore one day, and isn't feeling the jump. He's had a rough season, and maybe he needs to rest for a few days. As previously stated, he's put his heart and soul into skiing, training year round to be the best. After such a long career, the stoke fades and it becomes almost a burden. I know for me, there were times where I hated playing football. Having practice 5 days a week, film sessions on sunday when I could be eating dinner with my family, and games. Sometimes athletes get stressed, and for this entire community to jump on Dumont for needing a day off is pretty fucked. Yeah, I don't agree with him putting stuff like this on Twitter and Facebook, but whatever.

dumont is such a douche. one of my friends was part of a youth group and one of his best friend in the youth group is rly good friends wit dumont (sry i don't have a name) so my fiend drew got to shred wit dumont and he said he was just bein a complete ass hole to every1. but i will admit he's a good skier. i havn't seen one edit of his that i didn't think was sick. just hate him as a person

did you read any of the posts in this thread? I know i enjoy skiing so much because it's a privilege and i don't have as many opportunities as most. For professional athletes, it's more than that. they aren't "given the chance to ski that much", they've dedicated thousands of hours to mastering their craft. god forbid the guy doesn't feel like skiing one of an entire season of an entire career. He has every right to complain, considering he's contributed more to skiing than you will ever contribute to anything. For him, skiing is life, not a part of life. So, in conclusion, shut the hell up. If you want to ski so often, go out and sacrifice the things that pro skiers have sacrificed to get where they are, only then will you have the right to bitch about wanting a day off.

he was a bitch when yater-wallace beat him which was funny but i wanted to punch him in the face

ya sure, sometimes you arent motivated but it doesnt mean you have to post it on twitter because he was feeling sorry for himself and get attention, that just pisses me off.

You do have that chance, or if you're in high school then you will have that chance when you graduate. I took advantage of that opportunity and moved to Utah and have been able to ski epic mountains 5 days a week for years. It's been insanely awesome, but I have definitely had days where I wasn't that stoked to ski.

I guess my point is if you don't understand someones situation then don't judge their attitude. Or better yet, don't stalk strangers on facebook.

Pretty sure I've only met one person in my life who can ski every day and genuinely love it, it's not a common trait.

Honestly, I used to think of Dumont the same way you all do. But after seeing Transitions and reading that article on him in Powder last year my whole perspective on him changed. He battles a heart condition everyday, of course he is competitive he has to fight to live. Also, as it has been said a thousand times, wouldn't you be upset if you threw down the run of your life and gotten beaten by some kid who didn't spin right or have any solid switch hits? Things that you used to have the same issue with until you worked your ass of to get good at them? Dumont is just a very competitive person, but he has drive, he has drive because he loves skiing, and that shows in everything he does. Yes, he is sometimes a sore loser, but that is just a reflection of his drive. In my opinion his segment in Revolver was one of the best ever, he was throwing down some of the most insane shit, and he was progressing, but in tech and in style as seen in his newly acquired dub 12s and in his both ways cork 3s, name one other skier who can throw mind blowing cork 3s both ways. Then, he goes and throws a brand new double, one of the steeziest thrown yet at that,

The guys been progressing the sport for over 7 years, and for most of that time he has been on top, the one driving others to try new things. Now that's changed and he's scared, and he has every right to be. If nothing else respect the fact that hes been in the game longer than anyone else who is still competing.
