found everything i needed i don't usually come on these forums i usually just watch videos so i didn't know how highly debated that topic already was. Thanks for being a dick about it though.

Momentum from what I have heard has the best progression of any camp however if you push your self a lot then you can get the same from something like Mt Hood camps for half the price. There is a thread that some guy talked about momentums progression that was really good. I have had a bunch of friends that went to momentum last summer and said it was sick and you learn a shit ton. I'm going to momentum session 4, you end up going let me know, I'm generally not a dick there has just been a shit ton of camp threads lately so your bound to get flamed by someone. I just felt like doing it this time.

Yeah I appreciate the help I figured i'd get flamed for it but I'm not a kid i can take it. So far I've been thinking Momentum but then I saw a debate on Momentum vs coc and now I just don't know.

I've been reading some of those old threads still not sure though. Now I'm starting to even question whether coc might be a viable option as well...

I've never focused enough on park skiing i've always pushed myself more on the mountain. Lately i've been growing a lot more interested in freeskiing but i haven't had much time lately to hit the slopes. I'm in the army so I am desperately far from snow right now and I miss my days at CU boulder this is my first entire ski season that i've missed since i can remember. It sucks but theres not much i can do except try and get some time off for one of these camps. Just need to figure out which one is worth the $$.

Any help will be appreciated.

MHSSC might be your best choice especially since you sound like you just want to get back on snow after a long break. It's a little over half the price of Windell's. Super chill place, flybed on campus, private park on Mt. Hood. Accepts adult campers during most summer sessions (of which there are 12 or something like that). So many chill people and great coaches. Check my sig for a link. It isn't flashy and the website sucks, but it's a great time.

I've got a couple friends going to MHSSC this year, the park is supposed to be good however you don't get an airbag or water ramps. If you're just going to get used to spins, rails and hitting bigger jumps MHSSC should be great, it is almost half the price as stated before. If you want to get into off axis spins and inverts you might want to look into momentum or windells, as far as I know Camp of champs does not have an airbag. This stuff really helps when learning harder tricks since stuff feels a lot different with skis on, tramps help but water ramps and airbags help a lot more. Also Momentum has a ski only package which you ski and get coached but you don't do any of the after ski activities and you have to find somewhere to crash but it does give you close to 900$ off. You will have to pay separately for the water ramps and tramps though. You could probably live in a car and eat ramen noodles for nine days if you're really tight on cash. Just my thoughts, hope this helps.

momentum, doesn't have very good progression, imo i went there last year, and you ski with your group for a few hours and then your coach just peaces and goes and laps with their friends; it was fun though

Thanks this is the kind of stuff I was looking to find out. Yeah if I'm going to shell out 2 grand for momentum i'd hope that I'd be getting the most progression. I'd be pissed if someone who was getting paid to coach me peaced out to go lap with his friends while i'm stuck shelling out 2 grand. Leaning more and more towards mhssc. Yeah I'm not really to the point where i need a bag or a water ramp in order to learn a trick so thats not really an issue. I just want to hit next season with a vengeance and I think this summer program would be perfect.

I'm 21 whats the adult life like at these camps?

I would say Windells has the most progression and most fun! I hear Windells now has 4 airbags, 2 private lifts,a park that can extend up to a mile long along with the best ski coaches on the planet. Look all camps have their pluses and minuses. But when I hear things like half the price, then I would assume I am going to get less then half of what I am paying for.

Momentum is a great camp, not sure why the guy that ran the camp took a crew of the best skiers in Canada to Windells for a session plus this past summer and then quite Momentumn.

As far as progression goes, it is Windells all the way. For over a decade the skiers coming out of Windells program have been dominating the video and comp seen's.

As far as being chill, I would again choose Windells. That place is about as chill as it gets, no attitude as the MHSSC posters continue to preach. They half to hike and that is one reason they keep posting BS and they are forced to ride the over ridden public park.

CoC is a joke, those guys are clearly desperate, their advertising is a strait up lye. They claim they are on snow 3 to 4 hours more then the other camps, not true, MHSSC, Momentumn and Windells are on snow just as much. They claim they are the cheapest camp, not true, they took out all their extra cost from the main price and then once you add them back in along with the 12% tax, HOLY Shit they are way more expensive. In their news letter they claim they have sick coaches but hey can not tell the reader who they are. They claim something about the snow being better in Whistler due to Whistler being a glacier and yet the glacier shuts down in July??? Hood is open year round. They claim their last session is full, from what I am hearing in Whistler yesterday is they canceled it due to not enough interest.

I hope COC gets back on their feet some day, that place use to be fun to ski years ago.

This will be my fifth year at Momentum and I can easily say I've loved every minute of it.  The progression and skiing is amazing with a wide range of jump sizes for any talent level and a high concentration of step-ups and step-overs for safe progression.  With water-ramps, an olympic trampoline in the back of Momentum's hotel and an on mountain airbag, every trick can be mastered safely and confidently.  The coaches at Momentum are superb both in as coaches and as friends.  Off the mountain they lead afternoon activities which take place in and around the heart of Whistler and include a plethora of experiences such as paintball, frisbee golf, rock climbing, mountain biking, skating, wakeboarding, ziplining, and a hoard of other activities.  The accommodations at Momentum are unparalleled as you will stay at a hotel in the heart of Whistler with twin beds,tv's, a pool and full kitchens.  The hotel is adjacent to the grocery store for quick snacking to accompany the exemplary meals at restaraunts around Whistler.  Momentum is amazing.  You will have a great time.

I'm sorry and surprised to hear this as I've had exactly the opposite experience.  Each coach has their own strengths allowing you to capitalize one each coaches expertise and abilities.  I can recall one day when one of my friend's was learning to 2-pretzel-2 on an urban down rail.  Frank Raymond stayed with him for 45 minutes as he filmed and cheered the camper as the camper hiked the rail.  When the camper landed the trick Frank was as thrilled as the camper was and pushed him to do it again so as to build muscle memory and get the trick down.

No matter where you go, ask questions! The one thing I regret about camp is not asking the coaches enough questions, make them teach you haha

I don't see how this is furthering your point, for you accused the coaches of just leaving their groups and Frank did exactly the opposite.  Admittedly for the 45 minutes the other 5 of us didn't get the utmost attention but Frank continued to coach us as we hiked rails.  Afterwards, Frank then went out of his way help me perfect my Flat-5's which he had helped me to learn the previous day.

right. i've never been to camp, but i've gone to whistler close to the end of their regular 'spring' season before they scale back to just the glacier. their big park is still up and running in full swing, and there's tons of really talented kids riding there. i've progressed a ton every time i've been there, without any coaches, and any of the ridiculous fees associated with camp. every time, i've done a week for about $600-$700, including lift tickets, airfare, lodging, and food/drinks. just throwing that sort of thing out as an option as well, especially if you just want to get back on snow, ski a good park, and save some cash.

OK soo i have been to windells and Camp of champions. COC i went to quite a few years ago and windells i think 2 summers ago, and a bit has changed but overall i enjoyed camp of champions more, even though i basically live in whistler it never gets old. I think in the end it comes down to personal opinion because windells,Coc,momentum are all amazing camps and equally fun no matter what.

I have not been to momentum so i can't say much about it, but the hotel they stay in is pretty nice, like COC they have all of whistler to hang around in and you basically get the same riding time as COC.

The thing i did not like about windells is that you are stuck on there campus the whole time besides going to the mountain, at COC you have the compound AND all of whistler village which is sooo bomb. Whis village includes and amazing skate-park, dirt jumps, lost lake, MTB'ing,movie theater and even just roaming around can be a lot of fun. At COC you can go out to the village with your friends and have a different dinner everynight, where as windells it was like a cafeteria (dont get me wrong the food was great) but i just didnt like the same thing everynight in the same environment. The on campus vibe at COC i enjoyed a lot more too, and Ken (the camp owner) was always around having fun with us but i never saw Tim Windell at Windells when i went....

For riding purposes, again personal preference. I like the COC park more and got way more riding time in then at windells. The parks are pretty much equal, and now that COC has 2 handletows and the t-bar its going to be insane. I liked my coaching at each camp pretty equally, the environment on snow is the same as well, the snowboarders are all chill from my experience.

COC has wateramps, Windells has a dryslope to airbag. There both going to have dryslopes this summer. They both have skateboard + biking set ups that are equally sick, but whis has a bit more to offer. Theres a lot more stuff that could be compared but in the end this summer im going back to COC.
Its not to say one is better then the other, do your research haha and decide what kind of stuff you liike better. If anyone has questions feel free to PM me....... Superduper amounts of fun await no matter which you choose :)

Obviously its much cheaper to go outside of camp, but most kids on here barely even have a drivers license, let alone would be able to go on a real trip alone. Their parents (usually) pay for them to go to camp so they're not alone and everything is taken care of. When you turn 17 or 18, then the time to make trips to hood or whistler alone are appropriate.

I just want to go ahead and say that MHSSC's park gets ridden less in a summer than windells in a summer. Nobody is "forced" to ride public park we ride it a bunch because our three line into the public 5 or 6 is one hell of a run.
