Help me decide

Ok heres some background.
I live in oregon, so I ski PNW obviously.
I need some help choosing a jacket.
im 6'4

Option A: Oakley battalion. 15k waterproof. Fully taped, all the fixings (powder skirt, audio pocket, pit vents , ect.). This is a shell jacket. 33-34in tall

Option B: Spyder Echo Jacket. 10k waterproof. Full tapedall the fixings (powder skirt, audio pocket, pit vents , ect.). This is 550 fill down jacket. 36-37 in tall

Im looking for a jacket that will keep me dry when it snows/PNW snows(I wont be skiing for more than 2 hours if it rains) and will last me a long time. I allready own the battilion but I havnt used it much, I have the option of trading it for the spyder which is also in near new condition. Its a long story, I just need help picking which one to keep/get.

I'd say stick with the Oakley. You don't want 10k in PNW, it will get so saturated really fast when it's snowing.

You can always just buy a new suit for next year that is 20/20k.

My friend has that Spyder jacket, he says it's like being in an oven. Super warm and pretty heavy. I've worn it before, it does have some extra weight to it. Don't know about the water proofing. He skis in a very dry climate though (Lake Louise), so everything tends to be dry.
If you're on the coast, go with the Oakley. You'll just end up finding the Spyder jacket heaving and too warm.
Get something like a shell that has good water proofing. With a shell, you can layer up and down as needed.
This is why I prefer shells.

In my opinion both of these jackets are extremely "heavy" skiing in the northwest isnt what I would call the easiest skiing, I personally like skiing in a extremely waterproof shell, that way I can layer accordingly and its also extremely easy to adjust the temp inside my jacket. Again, its all personal preference
