PX 12 Question

I have the lifter plates on my PX 12's, and one of the plates is cracked, so I've decided to do something that I've wanted to do for a long time, that is, getting rid of the lifter plates. The problem I will have with that, is the screws will be too long. I'm thinking about grinding them down precisely with a bench grinder.

Does anyone have any experience doing this? Should I do it, or should I try to pick up screws for the non-lifted PX 12's?

Yeah just grind them down, you will not easily find a set of short bolts anyway. Just make sure there is about 3-4 mm clearence of the base when you put the screw back in the binding to cheack it against the ski. Use some bull nose pilars those bolts get so hot when you grind them.
