funny how he took the sample for that song from Beirut, in no way an Irish band nor is that song lol. I guess i shouldnt let it bug me, but really can't help it when artist get credit for their songs from most of their fans when they took the sample from other bands. Also I just really don't like Macklemore by his style and lyrics, pretty gay imo

Del is a poet, you say it's diction, but deep down you know it. Sometimes it gets constraining let me ask you, what's a Picasso painting? He's an abstract concept, a little hard to percept, who's not in it for the money while his wallet gets swept. If you guys want to hate on Mack, go for it. You have every right, just please say why. Don't bring up thrift shop. It was a fun song he did that got too big. Whenever I say I'm a fan, thrift shop is the first thing people bring up. If you want to insult him, listen to a song like The Town, Otherside, Welcome to the Culture, Starting Over, Church, then go for it. You shouldn't hate on the dude for a joke song he did.

Macklemore doesn't understand the concept of putting meaning into his lyrics without sounding preachy. "Otherside" is one of my least favorite songs of all time because it's just so goddamn heavy handed. The only reason that Macklemore is popular is because he makes easy-to-digest, faux-meaningful pop music that appeals to White America. He provides his listeners with a false sense of social consciousness through songs like "Same Love" that basically say nothing that hasn't already been said in a totally unartistic fashion. Fuck Macklemore.

First artist to independently produce a #1 song since Lisa Loeb 20 years ago. Hate it if you want, but this should change music for the better. It's 2013, record labels don't need to script music or change a musicians sound to sell records. That is why the Underground Hip Hop Movement started and if your scale is capitalistic ($) then you might be able to say he is the best.
