i dont understand running as a sport

well, when you think about it, most sports are based off running. you run in basketball, baseball, football, soccer, field hockey, floor hockey, any hocky (with skates on your feet), lacrosse, i could go on, but you get the idea

Alan Webb is awesome, and I'm so glad that he's making a revival from his gloomy days after he left Michigan. I saw him at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, where he ran his mile in 3:50.8(i think), but he looked really strong. I thought for sure with 200 left he would get under 3:50 though, too bad. I'm glad he made the olympics, but the Kenyans are still gonna kick our asses.

As for running as a sport, I think you really have to run as a sport before you really understand it. I've played a lot of sports in my life, but nothing has come close to the feeling when you cross the finish line at the end of a race. Never had I had the feeling that I had used up every single bit of energy to accomplish my goal and get to the finish line. To know that I had given all I had, its a great feeling, and i'd never really gotten that feeling before playing a sport.

it's nice to see him back in the mix of things. sucks that dathan ritzenhein hurt his foot and couldn't run well, he rules. next olympics he'll be near his peak and he'll be up there with the best.

i remember racing against this kid in high school at footlocker nationals at disney and a couple weeks before at the great american cross country festival in charlotte. then 6 months after he kicked our asses he was on letterman for breaking jack ryuns record. awesome hes going to the olympics now.

you ran at nats? who are you? i went and watched it the year after webb graduated.

Yea, Alan Webb is definitely amazing...sub 4 mile, 3:36 1500..wow! Hopefully he'll kick some ass at the olympics, and show the kenyan's who the boss is haha

i feel slow, but his pr is just less then a min faster then mine. just by a hair.

man, it seems he only got out of high school a few years ago. Thats an impressive time.

well he ran a 3:52 in highschool, or maby a few days after he graduated. i think we are gona see big big things at the olympics from him.

a kid in our school that just graduated has the state record in vt. and so doesnt the 4 by 1 or the 4 by 4 team
