Prob could have put in ski gabber but whatever...


But has it ever occurred to you how many sleeping bears you probably ski over on a seasonal basis?

How fucked would that be to fall into a bears den?


I just thought of that the other day... kind of creeped me out.

Then they killed the bears cubs. for no reason, fuckers

did you know that bears bears don't hibernate like other animals? they can wake up in a completely aware state and be ready to chase your ass down at any moment?

a very interesting thought. i would guess between 10-30 per season. if one where to fall in a bears den I think you would have plenty of time to get out safely before the bear woke up and even then I can't say if it would attack right away. bear are misunderstood creatures.

Bears make dens in hallowed out old trees, and are everywhere at whistler. Chances are you have skiied right over a bear if u ski trees at whis. Can u imagine falling in a treewell and coming fave to face with a bear? Creepy shit

due to the lack of bears i "woke" up two of these fuckers some years ago (not at the same time btw).

they sleep or do whatever they do totally covered in snow after it snowed and sit maybe 5 inch below the surface i would guess.

both werent too happy i guess and i almost got a heart attack when they started to fly (FLAP FLAP FLAP FLAP, etc) half a meter before my tips.

This is pretty much what my last bear encounter looked like, just mentally add some super tall ts, some murdered out c-bars, and several feet of snow to complete the image.

there was a boy in sweden that got pulled down in a bear nest, the boy crawled out minutes later with wounds on hes legs and arms. hes friends was watching the whole thing.(they skied over the nest)

In the 7-8 years I've spent touring, I'd venture to guess I have skied or skinned over approximately zero bears.

I've almost hit a few on my DH bike, though.
