I have a bunch of skateboarding wax at home and I am running low on my skiing wax. Would skateboarding wax work on skis?

Do you mean to wax rails or for the bases of your skis? If it's for your bases, do not use ANYTHING but wax made for skis.

not really, most any wax will not harm your skis/bases, they just may not go as fast as they would with high preformance ski wax

And what experience do you have that would lead you to this conclusion? You just spent like $500 for the skis probably so you must be able to afford the $25 it costs to buy a big brick of all-temp ski wax. $25 worth should last all season if you use it well.

Dont do it. skate wax has tons of oil'n'shit in it, and it cannot be good for your bases. Alot of racers dont even touch their bases in fear of getting the oil on your skin in their base.

If you really don't give a shit about your skis then try it. I was having problems with the bases on my urban skis sticking to the run in, so i threw some skate wax on the bases and it kept the snow from sticking, but it seemed to close the pores of the base and i was going superrr slow.
