Yeah, not really so much about the skating itself, but about how it is an avenue for social change. It's funny, we're all very similar as humans, it just takes something as simple and trivial as rolling around on a piece of wood to remind us of that. All of a sudden everyone is smiling and having a good time and all the peripheral details of where you are from, what religion you are, etc. just melt away.
It kind of bums me out when I see kids on the hill (and on here) talking shit incessantly over the littlest, most inconsequential details. Sports like these are meant to bring people together while encouraging individuality and self reliance. All the hate is just stifling the best aspects of the sport.
Kinda puts things in perspective when you see these people, and this is all they have thats good in their life. I'm pretty sure the last thing they're all concerned about is what each other is wearing.
