so stoked! finally got this beast of a machine up and running and it feels so good. I'm off to download many applications to make this thing awesome.

the only programs that i have that you have yet to list are

Smultron - text editing program
mynotes - allows you to just type lots of pages of whatever and never hit save cause it saves everything automatically... i typically use this rather than stickynotes since you can only put a few lines on there and i can copy and paste anything into mynotes and it syncs with an ipod too.
wine - allows you to run simple exe programs
protools... you probably dont need that
growl - notifications
fetch - i like it more than cyberduck... but i use a version from like 3 years ago cause I don't like the way the newest versions look

Bump. How hard was it to build it? I'm looking at building a desktop but have no previous experience in it? Will that matter? I have fair idea of the components I won't and pretty sure they fit but how hard is it to assemble it?

To be quite honest, if you have ever installed ram before you can do it with no problems.  I built my machine about a year ago and had never done so myself before.  The MOST important thing is to research as much as you can on each component and make sure they are all compatible.  Mainly make sure that the ram you are looking at is compatible with the motherboard you buy.  I also picked up a maximumpc mag that had a special how to build a computer tutorial in it which was somewhat helpful as well.  Hit me up if you have any other questions and I would be glad to help you out.

How hard was it to build?

Not that hard actually! It's like putting together a really simple puzzle, just plug each component into the right spots.

No experience, will that matter?

I had none either, I just watched a couple of tutorials online and the rest was a piece of cake.

assembly?

takes about an hour-two hours. I was very slow and made sure everything was put together properly.

hardest part?

Actually installing all of the software. Took a long time, and you have to follow certain steps tomake sure you "hack" it correctly.

This will tell you everything you need to know.  The only part that is even somewhat hard is mounting the cooler, but even still its pretty hard to fuck it up.  Check out maximumpc that is a fantastic resource.

Tor is made for sending data over an encrypted network to try and remain anonymous and prevent people from finding/intercepting it. I mean, re rooting your IP isn;t what it is trying to do, but in a way it does kind of mask your IP.

I probably wrote that all wrong because I'm hungover and tired.
