A Berani flip, (also called a Barani Flip, or Brani flip), is an aerial maneuveur consisting of a front flip and a 180 degree turn (half twist). This trick is performed in number of sports including but not limited to gymnastics, cheerleading, trampoline, and aggressive inline skating. The 180 degree turn is carried out usually halfway through the frontflip.
In gymnastics, a Barani is described as a roundoff without hands.[1]
It is named after Italian circus acrobat and tumbler Alfonso Baroni, who performed the trick around 1881
Mike Douglas, creator of the D spin, did it as an off axis 3 to backflip kind of thing.
JF Cusson had a trick in The Game, where it was a backflip to late 360, the miracle flip. Best trick ever.
