So, I've been given a school project in Comm Tech where I have to pick artists and imitate their style. I definitely want to do a very short film, but I'm having troubles picking who to imitate.

Any ideas?

yea he's bomb. and honestly i think he's the only director whose style would be 'easy' to mimic, mainly because he has very characteristic shots. seems like what sets him apart is much more tangible than what sets somebody like tarantino or the coen brothers apart

Darren Aronofsky - Macro footage set to insane foley. Geometric emphasis.
Danny Boyle - Canted camera angles and telephoto dolly shots with tons of random shit in the foreground.
Tarsem - Huge, open framing. Surreal colors and landscapes. Escheresque geometric compositional patterns.
Michel Gondry - Should rig footage with low output blacks and cold film stocks.
