whose the richest person you know, and what did they do to aquire their wealth?

You have to actually know this person too, like they would for sure greet you by your first name whenever they saw you...it cant be someone you met a few times.

alright this is complicated. my aunt married my uncle, and my uncles sister was married to one of the only living relative of the mellon family. they own an 80,000 acre ranch that i go to almost every year, they are loaded. but ye not related through blood, just marriage.

and the ranch is in the middle of colorado and takes up a whole mountain range, its not like farm land haha. they have probabley 10+ houses on it.

my grandma who was 101 just passed away a couple months ago. she didn't have a lot of money but she lived a long healthy life with a big happy family and loving friends. I'd say that is rich.

On the other hand, my fiance's grandparents (and probably parents) are self-made millionaires from apple farming and investing.

James Taylor's kids go to my school, and they live within 5 minutes from me.

My friend's dad is one of the most successful plastic surgeons in Massachusetts. His house is huge and he had his own paintball arena.

Another friend of mine is ridiculously loaded. For one, his mom's family is the Proctor part of Proctor and Gamble. His dad is a really successful developer, he makes 5 million a year. This kid's house is 11 thousand square feet and they have 5 golf carts just to drive around for fun and they have a barn full of 20,000 dollar horses. ridiculous.

my best friends dad, was the cfo of netscape from the beginning to the heyday...now sits on a bunch of boards including twitter.

Another good friends dad was the CFO of Sun microsystems in its heyday.

My cousin was the manager of the chicago branch of Solomon Bros during the investment banking boom, was the CEO of oppenheimer, and is on the board of a bunch of other stuff.

Steve jobs lives 3 houses down from me, and we used to exchange christmas cards...One of the google guys is currently building his house across the street.

not that amazingly rich but my grandparents were wealthy enough and plus they're fucking saints. Theyre putting all 11 of their grandchildren through university with 100 grand school funds each. also, theyre probably donating ridiculous amounts of their money to charity in their will.

jesus christ some of you gyys have some rich fucking neighbors. my uncle has done pretty well, he used to buy and sell houses but a few years ago flipped a casino and now he owns eleven small casinos in colorado arizona and new mexico.

I don't know anyone SUPER rich, but a few that I would consider very wealthy.

My uncle made a SICK land deal, and I"m sure he made quite a few million on it.

I used to play sports against Jim Leonard (Safety, NY Jets) and my dad went to school with his whole side of the family. I partied at his apartment a few times when he was still playing for Wisconsin.

I was a firefighter in the city that Barry Alvarez, Bo Ryan, Bret Bielema, and a few other UW coaches lived in. And worked at a golf course that Steve Stricker and Jerry Kelly.

I once did the CPR that saved the life of a guy who owned a bunch of lumber yards in southern WI. He was dropping off is Shelby Cobra at a shop.

my friends dad is the CEO of mass mutual, they have a 10000sqft house in CT, and an almost identical 7000sqft house at okemo, and a condo at okemo, and a lake house in VT, and a private jet, and 2 mercedies, 1 mini cooper, i wrangler, and a minivan. DOLLAR SIGNS

Palo Alto. Everyone lives pretty modest lifestyles, and has modest houses. Not attention grabbers.

My rents moved into our house in the late 1970's, and we have absolutely NO buisness being in the same neighborhood. We are the only family who does our own yardwork, and domestic chores.


forgot to mention. My dads best friend is the head of the federal bank in lithuania. hes from one of the OG families of california( Hearst, Stanford, Wilbur)

david beirne was my lax coach in high school. his company gave start-up funds to companies such as amazon, ebay, and yahoo. pretty sweet

michael cartier (oh yes, cartier diamonds) went to my high school for a little while

david bonderman is this kids dad. he is worth a cool $2 billion

my friends dad is the care-taker of Les wexner's ranch. he is the dude that owns victoria's secret.

and my mom used to work for prince bandar. he is a member of the saudi royal family. his house was on the market for $135million. the most expensive private residence in the U.S.

those are just the mega rich

What's the point of owning a condo and house at the same resort? And at okemo? If they have a private jet, why wouldn't they get a house or condo out west instead of dumping money for 2 propeties in

Rick Simonson - CFO of Nokia is probably the richest I know pretty well. I have met the CEO who got fired from GM most recently as well as the people that own Amazon.com at a party in Aspen too lol.

My neighbor. Hes a stock broker. Has easily a 1.5 million dollar home with a classic ferrari, corvette, new Mercedes and hummer.

He also has an apartment in miami where he keeps his second hummer. Oh, and they filmed an episode of CSI Miami in his apartment. THAT rich.

Probably one of my old math teachers. He created a website called moodle used by high schools, and he made bank. He also counted cards in vegas and atlantic city. He donates his paycheck back to the school every year. He sounds pretty cool, but he's a dick.
