Hey whats up guys, im an ice coaster and im thinking of going to whistler the week after new years....any suggestions of where to stay or how to procede, im leaving from boston and dont wanna spend a huge amount but around 1000-1200 would be good...any help? thanks

u cango for cheaper than that....go to delta airlines, sometimes they have specials on coast to coast....but since whistler isnt in the US, youd probably have to land and take a connecting flight if you wanted the deal

In my experience, booking through Intrawest, (the corporation that owns Whistler) is always fairly hassle-free. I have never been to Whistler, but I've been to Tremblant and Mammoth (both owned by Intrawest as well), and they both booked super easy as lomng as your ahead of the booking rush between September and October.

where have some of you guys stayed and how much should i expect to pay to fly from boston, ski 3 days and sleep 4 nights...tell some good whistler stories ya'll thanks.

Stay at a bed and breakfast, it'll be way cheaper and probably nicer than a hotel. The place I stayed was even cheaper than the hostel and a helluva lot better. If you know someone there in residence then you can go reall cheaply.

bring some stale bread. find a nice culvert under the road near the village and sprinkle the stale bread to lure the other ski bums out and steal their culvert.

Look on Travelocity. You can usually get the Delta Suites or Holiday Inn Express in the villiage for a pretty good rate.

If you're traveling alone or just with a few buds, the cheapest place in town is the youth hostel.

Last year, I was looking at going to Whistler aroung Christmas/New Years time frame, but my brother wanted to wait, well, they got dumped the week we would have been there.

My understanding is that the Xmas/New Years time frame is a crap shoot. You might have good early coverage, it might not be great coverage, you may not get snow, you might catch an early dump. If you are willing to take the gamble, if it pays off, you will be VERY happy, if not, its still skiing one hell of a mountain and a lot more vert/terrain than anything the east coast has to offer.

the coast at whistler is pretty ceap but still has some decent amenities like pool and hot tub and its only a few mins walk to the lifts.
