CoreUPT - TJ or Colby?

So, I can get amazing fucking deals on both (99€ NEW, fuck yeah Europe!) And I want to pick up a pair just because I can't let a bargain like that go by. I don't need a new park ski currently, but my park ski's won't last forever!

Me: 1.98m/6"5, 88kg/195 lbs.

Ski would be pretty much park only. Though, the TJ's are advertisded as a BC powder ski - is this true? (always a nice extra when it's not too deep)

Either way:
183 TJ - 116-88-116
185 Colby - 166-83-116

Pretty similar, I'm just need/want to know how stiff both are.
Currently I ride the Punx (82mm under foot), I love their softness, but I'd like to try something stiffer too, and I know both the CoreUPT's are. Just which one is stiffer, and which would you recommend for me?
Would I benefit much from the extra 2cm on the Colby's?

At first I was thinking about the Colby's because I like carving into jumps, but I reckon the 88mm under foot combined with the 'bc' ability of the TJ's would make the ski a LOT more versatile. The Colby's have an 18m radius, the TJ 20m.

Were talking the 09/10 models here. I know it's a futile argument, but the TJ's graphics are AWESOME (with the little spookies on) and the CJ's are horrible (with skulls and what not).

I was going through the same deal last year. The Colbys are stiffer and I believe they are poppier. Colbys have a bad ass cowboy on them to! It's early in the morning so I can't think that clearly but that's all I know

For what it's worth, as a centre-mount regular camber symmetrical ski, the TJ does not perform well in powder. Maybe anything up to a couple of inches (which any park ski can handle tbh), but if you go deeper than that then they like to dive.

Yeah, that's why I'm wondering why they call it a BC freestyle ski. I always hear CoreUPTs do have sick tips and tails though (much higher than normal tips/tails), I reckon that should make them stay on top slightly better, but still.

not sure where you heard the TJs are a good pow ski...I stay away from fresh snow more than 3+ inches. That being said, they are great park skis that I absolutely love. They slay jumps and rails, have good pop, and the slightly wider (88) underfoot makes for some extra stability on rails. I can't really say anything for the Colby's, but I highly recommend the TJs

Ok, and what did you go for?

I have no clue. At first I was like: I want the CJ's, then the TJ's, now I'm torn in between.

Pro's for Colby's:
- Shorter radius/more sidecut
- 2cm longer (185)
- Stiffer poppier

Pro's for TJ's:
- Super dope graphics
- Apparently a bit better suited for powder/more versatile

Which of the two do you think would make the better all-mountain ski? Does 5mm really matter in powder performance? As far as I know both have a fully traditional camber profile.

It surprised me too.

Damn... hard decision! I don't really need them already, and my moms going to kill me if I buy yet another ski... Oh well...

How stiff are the TJ's compared to other park ski's? Because I get the feeling it's quite stiff and the Colby's are about the stiffest park ski around.

They aren't really that stiff in my opinion, probably about medium-stiff. I weight about 155 pounds and I can flex them pretty well and I don't have the strongest legs either. And yah the Colby's are probably much stiffer because they are a pipe ski so they aren't ideal if you're wanting to play and butter around.

What size do you ski though? I'd get the 83's for sure.

i have tjs and absolutly love em for park... ive tried them out just for fun in kneeish deep pow and they were doable but not the greatest, the tj is a nice even stiff ski which can still butter for reference i weigh 140 pounds, these skis have a ton of pop too, they are also a extremely light ski so spinning is made a lot easier, lock onto rails great to....lastly there durability is amazing and the graphics look so sick on snow with the blue
