my encounter with the great beyond

i bought a couple of cds today, one for my dads birthday and a bob dylan cd for me. i take them bothj out of the bag and set bob dylan down and hide the one for my dad (rolling stones). after hiding it, i go to play bob dylan but i cant find it. i searched a 20 foot area for at least a half an hour. after jesus was done having his fun, he stuck it in a place i had looked in at least five times. i know i looked there since i remeber seeing a hess motorcycle right behind where the cd was. nobody was home either so it was nobody messing with me. and that is proof to me that there is more than i know of in this world. anybody else have a story which made them believe in something that they can not comprehend?

yea things like that have happened to me a lot to. one time during church, i looked up at the cieling for no aparent reason and everything was normal, aka i didnt notice anything unusual. then later on in the service a baloon floated straight down and stoped like 5 feet above the floor. not only was this balloon not there 10 minutes ago, but it is either going to be filled with helium or air and if it was helium it would still be floating up there and if it was air it would have floated down all the way and not stopped 5 feet above the floor. messed up.

jibjib i have seen ballons do that before it is becaue they are old and have lost enough helium that it can only pull the weight of the balloon up so far til gravity and its weight are too much. but it is still kinda freaky especially in church

alpine cowboy... this has nothing to do with memory. I SAW THE BOX IT WAS LEANING AGAINST. it was a nike shoe box and i could see the nike logo. when i found the cd, the logo was covered up. lateralis... if there is a ghost around, do you necesarrily see it? i mean i was in a 10 foot area the whole time and i saw and heard nothing. i dont know... im just trying to figure out what the purpose of hiding it was. usually when something happens to me, it has a reason in the end

sometimes that happens dude ^ you look strait at it but dont notice it because its what you are looking for. cant explain it, but it happens to me all the time when looking for my shoes in a closet, i look at them 3, 4 times and dont even notice them, even among other shoes that look nothing like mine. its a weird mind thing. dont try to explain it, just accept it and deal with it.

this is kinda when i cant find my keys, but then someone tells me 'dude their in your hand, pull your head outta your ass'...you just get so involved looking for them that its hard to realize its there...i do it all the time in my room, set something down and i turn around and its NOT WHERE I LEFT IT...it ends up across the room or something..whether its ghosts or im retarded...shit does dissapear and show up other places on me

that shit always happens to me!!!!!one time i ws looking for my wallet i couldnt find it....well i searched in my closet with clothes about 5 times....searched on the shelf where i always put it and it wasnt there.....i gave up for about 15min and then i go there and look and its smack dab right in front of me...i was freaked out. it was litteraly RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!!

this one time when i was a kid my brother was typing a paper on the comp and then he my mom and my dad at lunch. when they looked at the comp there was a ton more writing and it was all random words. they blamed it on me but it wasnt me. i think stuff like this happens to everybod, just almost everyone overlooks it

We know very little of the human mind, but I think there is alot of truth behind the old adage 'you see what you want to believe.'

In that, I believe that if we truly convince our mind that something is in front of us that we could even begin to see it. Your senses are all controlled and regulated by the head honcho of our nervous system; our brain. We are only yet beginning to tip the ice burg on comprehending the brain and it's vast resources; think if we could control that.

A good example would be our visage. We have extraordinary recognition for faces. A man commits a crime at 3 in the morning. You caught climpse of his face for only a mere moment and then he turned away. How is it that with the assistance of police sketch artists and our memory for features, that we can recreate an almost identical match? Face recognition.
Now, our face is something that we know a million times more. We've felt our nose, our ears, and our facial features our whole life. We've seen our reflection in mirrors numerous times each day. We know our face. Now, it's been said that if you were to wake up one morning and someone had given you a completely new face without you knowing about it, if you were to look in that mirror you would probably see your old face - the face you are used to seeing, the face you expect to see. The mind could do such things as a security buffer, to prevent shock. I am unsure.

So, if it's possible that you can actually see things because you've convinced yourself it's there, why would you not also be able to NOT see things because you've convinced yourself it's not there? If you've convinced your mind that something is lost and can not be seen in front of you.. is it so far fetched to think that maybe your brain will compensate and try to 'fill in the dots' for where the book was, and cover it with images that you've seen before?

I am in no way trying to knock this down as not being a supernatural experience, because I believe that it very well could be. Just something to think about.

once again, one of the smartest things on ns haha. i guess i could have just been imagineing that it wasnt there but i am just really convinced it wasnt. and about wakin up witha new face... i think i would notice it. but mabe not? maybe everyones face has changed and just nobody knows. whatever.

so i just came down stairs to the same area the cd disapeared in. its 5 now and i havent been at this comp for 3 hours. its a laptop and usually just puts its self to sleep after about an hour. well i come back and the screensaver isnt on. i think something else is hanging out down here where i sleep

^which is why i said you should read up on memory. unless you've taken psych, i'm pretty sure you'd be rather suprised at some of things that the brain does on a regular basis.

the thing about getting a new face and seeing your old one is pretty interesting. I remember someone telling me about a study someone did where people wore goggles that made everything look upside down. Eventually the peoples brains made it look normal to them and when they took the goggles off everything was upside down again.

i dunno i believe in that sorta stuff. not sure about the duck thing though. kinda random.
i also believe in that stuff where u look for it but its not there.
example of random is that i was trying to find my half life game which i thought i put in my closet couldnt find it. then a month later about i was looking for sumthing else and saw the box for it and thought i better get that soon to play. i go later on, maybe a few days, and its gone. might be just my mind thinking that i saw it and wanted it but i dunno.
one nore thing is that my uncle went to a phsycic(sp?) and told him sum stuff about him and his wife. then she said she could get tthe presence of my grandmother that died like a month before i was born. she said that she was talking about me and how she knew i was a boy and how im good academically and musically and how i hav talents and not feel pressured into doing just one thing with my life, but do more things that i want, which i kinda was feeling. but ther wierd thing bout that is that she didnt talk bout my uncles daughters or my sister or other 3 yr old cousin, but me. the one she never got to know thats gotten older. my mother always talked about how she knew i was gonna be a boy. and my uncle didnt say anything about anyone cause he was testing to see if she could actually figure out things about himself without being told.
