For $299 you can own part of a ski hill

Shames Mtn. in Terrace BC is trying to keep the hill going by starting a co-op... it sounds like an interesting idea. given the chance, I would probably buy a share of a mountain I lived closer to.

If I lived anywhere near there I would be all over that. I hope they can save their mountain. good luck to them

it's a great concept for sure, but how it turns out we shall see. I am guessing it would be run in a similar fashion to MEC or another cooperative/nonprofit.
and to the first poster, I believe in this case "part of a ski hill" means part of the company and not a physical piece of land, ie. buying a share of the company
