Tripples thrown at JOI kicker tonight!

Rumours told me that russ henshaw and macrae williams landed the tripple cork today at the JOI kicker in Åre sweden. A lots of riders have attempted different tripples and there was almost a tripple cork 1800 landed... where is this madness gonna end?

I guess JOI will be crazy this year... what do you think?

Yeah i wasn't trying to say it was sick, i just feel like its gonna turn into the new dub cork 12. I wanna see a trip 16, if someone did a dub 10 to legit cork 5 id be stoked. So far, the trip corks have been dub 10 to flat 3.

i am by no means a triple hater, i am completely for them. that being said, this is basically a triple cork 18 sans the mute grab and style, but with a banger landing.  Also note the jumps are nothing alike of course

not to split hairs or start an argument out of nothing, but i think bobby's looked more like cork 5 to sw cork 5 to cork 3, which is why i thought it was so cool.. just sayin

i just did.. i paused it as he finished the first cork 5, then again as he came out of the sw c5, then into the last cork 3. very close though.. i'd almost say it's open to interpretation. when i watched it with the mindset that it was a 7 to 3 to 3 i saw that you could be right (especially on the second clip they show of it)

whatever you say about freestyle skiing becoming like aerials, the one huge difference is that it is being done over 100ft+ jump instead of on a jump which shoots you straight up into the air as if you were on a trampoline, and then you land with almost zero horizontal momentum..... Its NEVER going to be the same thing!!

You are splitting hairs and thinking wayyy to hard. I guarantee if you asked both bobby and russ "how did you throw your triple?" they would say a dub 10 and then a flat 3/wackflip. They don't throw a cork 5 to sw cork 5 to cork 3. Dub 10s have always been a little different skier to skier but in all reality they're very similar and thrown the same. Now shut up about what this triple is because its just some hucked spinning.

Kicker is so fucking big! Looks small but its fuucking huuuge! Was there and saw the practice! Andreas tried a triple and Russ landed one! Talked to Jon and other peoples. Never been so stoked in my life! JOI is gonna be siiick this year!!!!!

how many more disclaimers would i have needed for you to not squawk? i said it was a dumb argument and i simply thought it looked a bit cooler cause it looked like 5 to 5 to 3 (or 5 to switch dub 9).. like i said, splitting hairs. relax

also your comments about russ's trip and everyone's dub 10s are pretty irrelevant, i never said otherwise..

I wouldn't say that its "hucked" spinning, but they do need to spin/huck themselves hard to get the rotation around, seeing as it is a massive amount of spin/flip. Calling it hucked is completely unfair, because the margin of error is SO small that even the tiniest mistake could be fatal. "Hucking" a trick wouldn't qualify with a triple cork, like Bobbys or Russ'. Someone could easily just throw themselves (huck) a double or even triple backflip, without grabbing, and be completely out of control, that would be hucking. Just my 2 cents.

i would have to agree that it won't go past triples. i mean i guess it COULD happen but think about how big the kicker would have to be and how fast the person would have to go. not to mention all the things that could go wrong... but i guess we'll see. it would definitely be crazy.

Maybe it's just the angle but I really did not like that. It looked like a really inverted cork 5 to sw dub rodeo 9. More like a triple flip than a triple cork. I would love to see someone with a flatter dub cork stomp a triple.

agreed. like you said, maybe it's the angle, but bobby's had more funky corkscrew action. russ's looked way too flippy. i liked the fact that Bobby's was on a gnarly step-down booter instead of a JOI style step-up.
