Tripples thrown at JOI kicker tonight!

Rumours told me that russ henshaw and macrae williams landed the tripple cork today at the JOI kicker in Åre sweden. A lots of riders have attempted different tripples and there was almost a tripple cork 1800 landed... where is this madness gonna end?

I guess JOI will be crazy this year... what do you think?

it will all end when LJ tries to triple cork a 30 foot jump at breck's preseason park next year, and shatters every bone below his waist...only when LJ cant land it can we say the sport has gone too far.

its an almost entirely european field, and doesnt have every single big name in the sport. It is nothing like the specatacle of JOI or JOSS from years past, so it is looked at like just another big air comp.

Dont worry though the euro ski sites will have a bunch of edits out later tonight or tomorrow.

I think JOn felt as though if there were live coverage people would stay at home in Sweden and watch it rather than going to Are therefore a shitty atmosphere around the kicker i think so he decided to not do live coverage and show like a day by day videoblog or something of the sort.

im guessing your not a native english speaker? looked at=viewed as. This doesnt literally mean that it looks like just a regular big air. It means that the pros view it as just another big air.

Native english speaker, and I did catch the looked at part. Probably shouldn't have jumped the gun so quick- you're right. I guess I was just unleashing the rage on people that could have gone to JOI to advance their careers but everyone decided to bail for WSI.

Yep, I've seen that. But how many people receive this prize purse? 3 per event? Realistically, what are your odds of winning that, even if you're towards the top end of competition? Not very high. Realistically, you be much better off getting shots of a triple and potentially doing well in the lower rated JOI than you would placing 4th in WSI. And at WSI you probably won't get any shots, probably won't get a chance at a triple, and honestly probably won't advance your career as much as you would have with JOI. But hey, I'll wait till WSI goes down to see what happens, its just funny that JOI is shaping up to be a crazy event that the athletes will probably do well pushing off from.
