I'm curious as to how many people on NS actually play and keep a handicap, and if so how the talent level is.

I haven't kept an USGA handicap, but unofficially I'm around a 10. I've been working at golf courses in the summer for the last 5 years. Looks like (hopefully) this will be my first summer not working on a course.

if i remember correctly i think jacob wester is pretty good. i havent played as much as i want and i ditched the handicap, but i shot an 86 first time out this year. hoping to improve on that

Not exactly sure, but i usually shoot 40-45 on 9 when i play, best round was 86 last year.

Growin up in florida it was mainly the only thing to do. started at 4 and played it and played it, but i hated it. Its like that shit with parents forcing their kids into sports cause the parents are tards. so yeah i played it for 13 years straight and got to about -2. but then i saw POP YER BOTTLZZZZZ!!!!!! and that shit changed

i dont know my handicap, i dont play often enough and i dont usually care about that shit. last summer i shot a 73 one day, it was pretty sick, thats my personal best i think. i cant wait to get out there this summer

Yeah I play (pretty badly) I'm a member at Breckenridge golf club, if any one else play in summit hit me up for a round during the summer some time. My Handicap is 23 but I struggle to break 100 most rounds.

last summer i got my cap down to 4, with a few rounds under par. Pretty pleased. Just got new callaway ft 9 driver, but gotta put a stiffer shaft in it.

word word, thats basically my season for last year. minus a fucking wreck at VT high school championships. (3.6 hdcp to be exact.) enjoy the driver though

i mostly just hit at the range because i do long drive comps, but when i used to keep a handicap it was around 8.

I used to keep track last summer but stopped and decided it put to much pressure on playing haha. Anyways, on a decent course ill usually shoot in the 90's. Love the game, pretty decent player I guess you could say. Just a little expensive at times.

Skiing all winter, golfing all summer- keeps you busy all year round, and smiling every day! I work at Furry Creek golf club just outside of Vancouver and play tournaments all summer. I left last year at a 1 handicap with some rounds in the summer that were 4 or 5 under, and I tied the course record at my home course in Squamish with a 66 (6 under) /claim

Do you play Keystones courses much? I was there a few years ago for a trip and got to play the river and the ranch courses. Gotta say, I was more than impressed with how fun the river course was, the ranch was just alright which was a bit of a let down seeing as how the ranch course was supposed to be better. The ranch course was tougher, but damn that river course was fun- especially given the altitude and ball flight/distance.

i'm a 10, sucks because i end up playing with a bunch of old sandbaggers who claim to be 10's and 12's but they end up 4 over every time any money is involved. those bastards sure hate turning in their low scores.

Ahhaha yeah crazy expensive, its usually a pretty tough decision between golf equipment for the year or new skis. i mean, it'd be one thing if i made bank and could afford everything, but hey, we do what we can.

i personally know at least 20 people who are scratch golfers. hell, the winner of our club championship was if i'm not mistaken, 12 under after 4 rounds.

I kind of slacked off on my official handicap last year, but I believe at this point its probably around 10. High 30's low 40's for 9 and low 80's for 18. Occasional high 70's if the driver is true and the putter is firm.

Yeah I've played the River course a few times, really fun course some of the elevation drops off the tee box are awesome, crushing the ball for miles! I haven't played the Ranch course but I've heard its not as fun as the River. Do you live in Summit? If you wanna play a round this summer hit me up I'll be happy to play at Keystone or Breck or somewhere else if you know of any good cheap courses near by.

? are you joking... you don't really even understand how good the guys on the PGA are than...for example, Tiger is a -13 hdcp at Isleworth. Course rating at isleworth is around 80 from the tips. meaning I would struggle to break 80 out there and Tiger consistently shoots around 67-68.

if you don't know what you're talking about, don't say anything.

I have a few friends that play to +1 or +2 handicaps, pretty sure he meant to use a + and not a -, but in any case, they are by no means close to pro,

the closest i know is a friend who now plays for Dartmouth at a +3 handicap, and he missed qualifying for the US Open by 1 stroke, just to give an idea as to the average pro's handicap
