GoPro Memory Card

I'm about to pick up a gopro, is there any reason to get a more expensive SDHC card as opposed to any other ~$50 32GB one? I'll be using it in water a lot if that makes any difference..

i bought a cheap 32gb card and it fried and i lost all my footage. its worth getting a name brand card.

im pretty sure it was called "transend" off of amazon. i went to costco and got 2 8gb class 4s for like $25

Also make sure the card is at least a class 4 or you may have problems recording at 720p 60fps or 1080p.

how much more expensive are class 4s? idk what i have, but ive just been swapping out the 2gb cards laying around my house haha. and i would get more than 16, just cuz thatll take all the highest quality footy you could take on one battery, unless your gettn another batt then yea 32

kingston 16gb class 4 is about $45. As long as you can upload you're footage to a computer after everyday 16gb should be good, I have an extra 8gb just incase I need more footy though.

I got a Kingston 16gb Class 6 for my GoPro.

Go with a reputable brand name. It's not worth loosing all your footage on a crappy card.

I find if I'm doing a lot of filming mine won't last a full day of skiing. Also if I charge it and then don't use it for like a week, the battery won't last as long either.

Get an expensive one!!! I bought a crappy one off of ebay that was a class 6 and it is such a pain in the ass. It worked alright at first. Like only one or 2 clips out of 20 would not work. But then I had to re format it everytime i used it just to hope that a third of the footy would come out. I thought it was a problem with the camera so GoPro replaced it. Definitely the card. Save your self trouble and go with the ones that they suggest.

There is no reason to get a 32G. A 16 will get the job done fine. I have never run out of shots before battery, and on GoPros site they list a few cards that work best with gopros.
