There sound isn't similar at all. Thats why I don't get the comparisons. I don't really want to go searching for all the articles i've read but the comparison is that Wu was underground, they are a collective, but each were still able to have stand out single careers.

odd future seems pretty similar to wu tang to me. they are a defined group, but have solo tracks on their mixtape (as well as solo mixtapes of their own) that are sick, but when they all rap together (see swag me out) its fucking epic. they have a long long way to go before they are on a wu level though.

Odd Future is not/never will be as great as the Wu. When Wu Tang came out in 93 they brought shit no one had ever seen or heard before. They dropped knowledge on every single track and there is so much lyrical content in their verses it takes a long time to decipher what they're actually saying. I'm not saying Odd Future doesn't have that but from what I've seen, they don't. I feel Odd Future is gaining popularity for the wrong reasons (fucked up lyrics, weird videos, hypebeast style, etc.) where as Wu Tang was actually around when people recognized them for the new and revolutionary shit they were bringing. Plus Tyler the Creator will never, ever be as knowledgeable and talented as RZA.
