Help Me With Vinyl Cutter Questions +k

I have an MH365 12 incher which was the cheapest true vinyl cutter i could find it cost around 300. But word to the wise its a huge pain in the ass using software it comes with and other softwares for vinyl cutting can run from $500 to $2000. I acctualy do not use my vinyl cutter very often at all because the software they send you sucks so much dick its ridicoulous. My dad is a computer genious (database Manager) and it took like 3 hours to get the link from the computer to the vinyl cutter to work for shit. So bottom line its is not worth it unless you have the cash to shell out on a decent sign cutting program.  The thing is that a vinyl cutter can only use a vector image and unless you will be drawing 100 percent of your stickers in a vector compatible program (not even sure if this will work) Your gonna be so fucking frustrated. It works if all you plan to do is make just plain text die cuts. I am not trying to scare you away from it it just sucks ass unless you have a decent software. I have not looked around in a while so there may be a new software that is easier to use and has a better user interface so feel free to look around some more and if you have anymore questions just post in this thread or PM me.

You would need a better software than what it comes with (signblazer) to do saga unless you have an unbelivable amount of patience. There are softwares that re cheaper and would probly do the job bbut whatever you do dont plan on using just the freee software

if you just want a few for personal use you are better off going to a sign shop and getting what you want made for you. Otherwise you'll be over a grand into this before you even see a sticker.

You're probably going to be spending $400 at the bare minimum. You can look on eBay for a cheap cutter, but you get what you pay for, and none of them are worth wasting your money on. I'd recommend looking into the cheaper models of either Roland or Graphtec. Graphtec has the Silhouette HD, although I don't know much about it, there is probably reviews online. If you have the money, I would recommend a Roland Stika, any size (8, 10, 12 inch width). I used to use the 8 inch version, and saw up 24 inch vinyl rolls I buy from a local supplier into 3's. Roland gives you almost everything you need, it gives you software, although I prefer just to use Adobe Illustrator with the Roland Cut-Studio (software) add-on. Adjusting the blade is easy with Roland's, and once it is set you never need to adjust it again. You can probably find the 8-inch version for around $400.
Other supplies you're gonna want would be: squeegee ($5), weeding tool ($10), and vinyl. Vinyl you can get from local suppliers for cheap, or look online for companies that ship. It will probably cost you around $3-8 a yard depending on what quality you buy.

I have the roland Gx-24, its a great cutter. It cuts anything from 1/2 in up to 24 inches with no problem. The only down fall is that its a $1700 cutter but the roland cut studio softeware it comes with is really simple to use. vinyl can get really expensive i get my vinyl mainly form ebay or signwarehouse. also transfer tape gets really expensive

I think you would be surprised what a 15" cutter can do.  if you're working out of a small area and have a smaller budget than most people you should definitely look into some 15 inchers.  For software I use Corel Draw X5 for all my vector stuff.
