So I'm an expert big mountain/powder skier, but I've started skiing park pretty much 100% of the time when I'm on the east coast where I go to school. I can do 3's on small/medium jumps and can do some of the simpler boxes/rails but i'm not really that good yet. What is a good beginner park ski that will still be good once I progress/ should i just get an advanced park ski since I'm a strong skier? Jumps interest me more than rails...
I was in your same boat this season. Came to a city with a park hill after living in the mountains and skiing big mountain/pow all my life. Don't get a beginner ski, you'll just thrash them.
I was skiing on some old AR6s that I have had but never used for a couple seasons. They we're amazing. Look into the AR7 or AR6s.
But seriously thanks to everyone else. Do you think it really makes that much of a difference to get a symmetrical ski as opposed to a asymmetrical ski mounted -2.5 back or something like that?
If you get a symmetrical ski, mount it centre. If not, -2 wouldn't hurt all too much. Depends if you'll be going around to places that aren't park too. You can mount an non-symmetrical ski centre too.
i would get something similar to the volkl walls. its more an intermediate park ski, but it would do you good since you are an advanced skier. 4frnt clicks could work as well.
No, and if you plan to use it out of the park even as little as like 10% or 20% of the time, absolutely not. Unless your park riding is to a level where something like that matters, being slightly off center the small amount of time you'll be doing tricks wont make a difference, but you'll notice the centered mount when you ski the ski elsewhere, all the time.
