Tall Skiers

Do any tall skiers out there feel that their height holds them back a bit? By tall i mean over 6 feet
Anyone know some really tall pros? just curious

I'm 6'3 and ive never felt held back... if your shit looks steeZy on you, and your skis are the right size i dont see how you could feel held back...

i'm 6'3 and i don't find park that different, maybe its easier to spin or flip or something if your smaller but i don't feel a difference, but then again i suck so that could also explain why i dont feel a difference. But when i hit jumps i don't find a difference, i think it's all about your mind, if you think u can do things you try them, if your scared then you dont.

I am 6 foot 5 inches and 250 lbs. The only way this affects my skiing is finding skis and it hurts more when I fall. Besides that you just kinda get used to balancing on rails and it doesn't really matter for jumps.

I'm 6"5, and sure enough it's harder to spin, but not thát much harder I reckon. The problems come when going inverted mostly.
I'm tall (even for Dutch standard), but the average male body height in the Netherlands is 6"1/6"2, so 'tall' as in over 6' doesn't really count here. I like being tall, the chicks dig it and most of the time it's just an advantage. Except for park skiing, haha. Besides, what girl wants to get together with a 5'10 guy (or shorter)? In the Netherlands you're pretty much out of luck as a guy then, haha!

There is no difference; tall skiers can kill it and so can short skier. Your height is no excuse for slow progression.

oh, and to all the people saying "it's easier to be shorter" or anything else like that: how exactly would you know if it's easier or harder based on height? if you're 6'4", how much experience do you have skiing as a 5'8" person? and vice versa?

Just seams kinda funny to me when people make comments like that when they only have their own body to judge it off of. I mean, I'm 6'1", and there's definitely no handicap there, but as to the question of is it harder to do tricks as a tall person... how the fuck can I even answer that? I have no idea what the difference is.

stupidest question to think about... hight doesn't prevent you from learning tricks? unless your a tall goofy person with no coordination hight cant prevent you from geting better. just an excuse in my opinion and for the record im 6ft.

I am 6'5 and ski park all the time. I feel fine almost 99 percent of the time. Always going to feel awkward learning new stuff, that has nothing to do with height. Excuses are for bitches.

I'm 6'3''. I don't think it disadvantages me.

Even if it did I wouldn't care. Pussy > Mild Disadvantage at Skiing in the longterm.

You rarely see tall guys doing inverts off of knuckles and small side hits Its always the shorter guys
other than that i don't see height contributing to skiing

I think yes, im 6 foot 4, so my centre of gravity is so high and becasue i grew so fast at a young age my muscles didnt catch up very fast and then i hurt myself, both knees blow out, and compressed my spine, so i think yes.

I'm 6'5. It's no excuse for learning tricks. Maybe it affects style or I just suck haha. I wish I was shorter for life tho. Clothes are always either too short or too fat.

not that clever, sry! i study sport science and have to totally disagree with u! for example: did u ever learn about torque in physics class? then u would prolly realize that it makes a difference how tall u are! did u ever watch gymnastics at TV? ever seen a tall guy there? guess why...
i don't wanna say that tall skiers can't be as good as smaller ones, they just don't have the best physical requirements...
Obviously there are so many influences (beside ur hight ) in ur skiing skill that u can't really say what is the main factor so u can compensate ur height-disadvantage with lots of other things!
AND saying ur tall when ur little over 6'....this is not tall!
I'm 194cm tall [Saga XL is not that baggy anymore](don't know how many feet this is...6'8?) and i've never seen a park skier who is taller than me in those 4-5 resorts i normally shred! i don't have a problem with it! just wanna say that IT IS AN ADVANTAGE TO BE SMALLER WHEN ITS ABOUT TRANSLATION AND ROTATION!

ok, i just googled that feet and inch stuff! i wanna take it back that over 6' is not tall...it's already 183cm!
and i'm not 6'8 i'm 6'4/6'5! :) anyway I still stand behind the other stuff I said !

i knew this just got bumped and shit but Benjamin Forthun (the dude that went viral with the dub backs) he is probably 6"2 at least. i have "known" him for a couple years. (he skis at my local)
