Surface Warranty

What up ns,

I broke my nine lives earlier in the season skiing around my home mountain 7 springs over winter break. It happened when I was basically just cruising around (wasn't in the park) and eventually noticed the tail of my ski was bent up. It turned out the core was broken and the ski went from having an early rise to having the same profile as the rocker on the new life on the tail of one of my skis. I bought another pair since and these have just been sitting in my room since December. Think this is something Surface can help me out with? I'd imagine waiting this long probably doesn't help...

Yeah have fun with that, Surface is known for having pretty bad customer service sometimes.

Most companies have a one year warranty, sooner you take action and contact them the better, always. Why ask NS, we're not going to replace the ski even if we think its under warranty... ask the company!

If the ski was defective when you bought it and it broke as a result of that defect, then they will be covered under warranty and the company should replace the defective product (I.e. new skis for you). However if the ski broke as a result of some form of impact caused by misuse (Rail, tree, rock etc.) then it won't be covered and you're shit out of luck. The fact that you went out and bought another pair from them might help matters though, warranty issues can be a little subjective sometimes.

Yeah because idiots don't read the guidlines on their warranties. They have wonderful customer service if you understand warranties correctly.

I warrantied my ninelives 3 times for the exact same things, good enough service. Got a pair of no times for my last pair, those took 4 months to arrive..... Snapped those too after 4 months. All in all Surface skis suck.

no, that model of skis sucks. the nine life/no times. that's why they're for sale so cheap everywhere. for the most part, anybody who's been on newschoolers knows they break, but kids love to buy them cheap, have them snap and make more threads bitching about it. two kids i personally know have done it as well. but no, all surface skis don't suck, their pow skis are awesome, and everyone loves their park skis until they break. from what i've heard, the cores on next year's park skis are stronger.

but who knows- the point is, their pow skis are stiff, super fun, and about 2/3's the retail price of most major companies equivalents. you can get them really cheap (~$300) if u look around at the end of the year. so don't hate on surface, just their "no times".

Yeah my One lifes are holding up great and im still a bit hesitant to buy next years double times just because of the surface/park ski reputation. I snapped a pair of watch lifes and im currently riding the joystick "these" which are very similar to the watch lifes.

well personally, I'm not going to chance any ski with surface again. They were very poorly constructed, I got them for cheap but they should still last me more than 15 days of skiing....

the doubletimes seem cool, i just don't like their flex. they're super stiff in the nose, and soft in the tail. makes no sense to me.... seems like the tails won't hold u up on gnarly landings like a stiff ski would, but the stiff nose wouldn't be fun for buttering, like a soft ski would be fun for. but i haven;t skied them so idk. all i can say is my one lifes are sooo much fun for buttering around
