+1, 3D is one of the worst things to ever happen to cinema. I loved reading The Hobbit and the LOTR films but I don't think I'll be seeing this if it's in 3D.
I own that, and it's still fun to watch. I read the hobbit to my kids a few months ago, and have read the lord of the rings probably 7 times. My favorite poem that I can recite from memory is:
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
oh stop being so pretentious. the only thing that's stupid about 3d is the cost, and that nothing seems to pop out at you anymore. otherwise it's not a gimmick, ...well no it is. it's a gimmick to promote a secondary type of viewing experience. goodness me.
It isn't one of the worst things to happen. It has a lot of great potential. One of the worst things to happen to cinema is shitty movies. And shitty movies are shitty regardless of 2D, 3D, black and white, etc, etc. 3D is good shit, but it has only been used well in one movie, maybe two, to date.
Dude, he's shooting in 48fps and with some hardcore equipment (co-operating with Cameron) and he's not gonna rush anything, three more years before it even finishes production.
It's going to be a work of art no matter the angle.
Then again, fucking perfectionists, three years? Gahh.
Ah I'm so stoked about this. It's been in production for absolutely ages as well I think it was originally meant to come out last year but they had funding problems.
dude i always thought that lord of the rings movies were gay..that is until i acutally watched the first one in class, then i was hooked. That is one of the best trilogys of all time. stoked for this.
and to those complaining about 3D, PJ's got this the 3Ds gonna be epic. 3D mostly is a gimmick but when its used correctly, like in avatar, it turns out sweet.
i forget about it unless i look away from the screen but it's something i'd rather not have to deal with. i don't think it makes movies that much cooler and it especially does not make a bad movie good...coughavatarcough
the funny thing is... every single movie ive ever heard of thats offered in 3D is also offered in 2D? if you like it pay the extra 3 bucks if you dont, dont.
