soo pumped, i'll be home this weekend.
As stated last week, we are still working towards hosting an "after-season" finale for our many freestyle skiers and riders. Our plans were to pull our remaining snow together for a final freestyle session this coming Saturday, April 23rd. We are currently keeping a close eye on the weather as we move towards the coming weekend and just not sure at this very point in time if we can make a go for Saturday due to the projected and potential mild temps, rains, t-storms, et al----we'll continue to evaluate the weather (as well as our existing snow) over the next couple of days and a decision will be made by Thursday on whether or not we can roll Saturday. Stay tuned for details soon.
From all of us at BMBW, we wish to thank our many wonderful guests as well as our dedicated and passionate staff members for what was truly an EPIC winter season! The winter of 2010/11 will certainly be one to remember for most snow enthusiasts throughout the region as it was truly an amazing season with many, many awesome "snow days" for all skiers, riders and snow-tubers to enjoy. Let's hope at this time next year, we are saying similar words about the 2011/12 season!
Lastly, don't forget that the deadline is fast approaching on the most deeply discounted season pass option at bmbw for the 2011/12 season. The Summit Pass is only available through April 30, 2011....so, make the time to purchase on-line or simply stop by the Boston Mills Info Office. Don't delay---get your Summit Pass today!

AFTER-SEASON FREESTYLE JAM POSTPONED
With regret, we will not be able to pull off our planned "after-season" freestyle event on Saturday the 23rd. Due to the incoming system of inclement weather, significant rains and potential thunderstorms....we are forced to postpone.
However, we still have a fairly good amount of snow up in The Park area, and we would like to give our freestyle skiers and riders one last "hoorah" before it goes away! So, our plans now are to look at hosting some freestyle-fun next weekend. We will simply have to wait and see how next week's weather unfolds, but we truly believe that there will be at least an on-snow session (if not, two!) at some point next weekend.
Keep checking back with us here on the bmbw website....on facebook....on twitter....et al, and we'll keep you updated on details for next weekend as they become available.
Brent here with a quick update about this Saturday's Meltdown Rail Jam at Brandywine. It looks like we are going to have a pretty nice weekend in store for us with warmer temps and a bit of sun, great for a spring rail jam. However, we will have to wait and see how our remaining snow holds in the Park with the forecasted inclement weather over the next few days. Our plan is to run Saturday from 11am to 5pm with a few features set up over in the Park. Check out the photo above posted last week of what the snow pad looks like.
For this event we are going to be charging $10 and asking everyone who attends to bring a few canned goods (please make sure the canned goods are not expired or about to expire). These items below is what you should bring:
Our Six most needed food items are:
• Beef Stew
• Canned Soup
• Canned Vegetables
• Cereal
• Peanut Butter
• Tuna Fish

Update: Thursday, April 28 at 11:00am:
The "Meltdown Rail Jam" is ON for Saturday! We have certainly lost a great deal of snow here in recent days with the warmer temps, rains and intense winds....yet after our morning evaluations, we still have just enough of a "snow-pad" left to move forth with our after-season freestyle-finale.
Saturday's projected weather looks wonderful with quite a bit of sunshine and temps pushing towards the mid-60s....perhaps a PERFECT day for a final freestyle session here at Brandywine. The mountain ops team and park crew members will begin preparation and install efforts on Friday. At this point, we believe there is enough snow and room for a quality little set-up of a half dozen or so features/elements...and BV will keep you updated as the process comes together with some photos and additional details.
Plans are to roll Saturday from 12noon-4pm. The cost is $10 per person plus three cans of food (see list below). To ensure our donated items help in every way possible, please verify that the food is not expired or about to expire. The canned goods will be donated to a local food pantry and the funds raised will be donated to Hope on the Slopes. So, not only do you freestylers get a final round of snow-fun here on our "snow-pad" for the final day of April 2011...you can also help us help others with your entry fees and food donations.
If your planning on sticking around and checking out some of the action on the hill, stop by the info office and grab a spectator snow pass, this will be mandatory for access to the snow. We will also have the bar deck set up for a nice spot to relax in the spring temps. The main food & beverage building will NOT be open during the day, please use the rental bulilding for any changing and restroom needs. There will not be any food sales during the day so bring a lunch, we will have limited drinks available.
So, here's to some final GOOD TIMES before the remaining snow is gone. We hope to see many come out for what will be fun-filled day of sliding with your fellow freestylers.
