Using skateboard trucks on a longboard

I'm looking at ordering a Landyachtz Bamboo Ripper but im not so keen on buying trucks for it as they are expensive as hell and I already have a few skateboard trucks lying around. Would I be able to use skate trucks and still have similar responsiveness using longboard wheels?

When I was at asu i saw skateboards with longboard trucks but not the other way around

might be possible if you use risers...depends on how big the wheels are that you're using
