I commented this on vimeo already, but really nice work. I really like that there is movement (steady movement) in nearly every shot. also, the colors were great.
i know you're one of those people who likes to shoot it right the first time, so just out of curiosity, how much grading did you do? because the colors were incredible
most of it was pretty easy on the grading...I just gave the blacks a complimentary push, and in some instances, I lowered the black output levels in the output room in Color to get that filmy contrast. Other than that, I did some power masking to make the skies pop in the shots with the rocky landscape, since grad ND filters only work with flat horizons...
damn, that's unreal. if i didn't know that you try to get the colors right when you shoot it, i would have assumed that you did a shit ton of grading to get the colors to look that good
the only thing I would have done differently would be to flip the 2nd timelapse with the trees on the shot horizontally so it was going in an opposite direction of the 1st tree timelapse shot. I guess technically it actually wouldn't make sense in terms of rotations, but it seems like it would look nicer? not even sure why I felt that.
keep up the good work man, looking forward to seeing more of your work
