How Big...

As you all clearly know, skiing, particularily newschool, has grown tremendously in the past 5 years. People are doing what they thought impossible in the 90's. When is the end. Skiing has to reach a final stage. Not because people forget about skiing, but because you have to obey the laws of physics. How big can skiing go. What tricks will be pulled in the year 2020. I know nobody has a real answer for this, but just post some ideas. Im curious.

Im guessing the jumps will become those from SSX3, those 300 foot kickers, and those crazy rails going everywhere. I think by then, we will find new alloys (possibly) that are lighter then now, and also we will come up with greater suspension on skis, so you can land thousand feet airs wit ease. About the light aloy, possibly light enough to where its exactly like standing.
Also, the suspension will have a dual perpose, wich will be like being on a weak trampoline, it will make your jumps higher, giving you more air, and allowing you to pull huge tricks everywhere on the mountain.

first off 1440s will be as easy as 180s, and pros will be doing 2700s (7 1/2 spins incase you suck at math)and bio 2430s to rail... people will be riding 259cm 1080s, sad to say but line and armada will probably be out of buisness, snowboarding will die and only skiing will be done on slopes, the poor boyz productions crew will be old men, and the second generation pros will be the rookies such as mike douglas' kid,

^none of that will happen.....itlll be similar just crazier rails and big steezy stuff....i dont know what will happen with jumps but all i can say for rails is switch ups on urban shit like halfway thru the rail and theyll be doing stff like 270s onto urban

i think bristolrider has it down, deff. more progression on rails than in the air. like c rail to gap to another c railgoing the opp. direction with a spin in the middle. and something like on a kink where they do a lincoln off on kink to land on another lower dow nwould be sick, but you'd need a certain kind of rai lfor that

i think its a while until skiing starts getting out of hand liek that. liek bristol said, people are gonna do stuff liek that, smaller but more stylish tricks. they can perfect what theyve done like that so a 630 on, not incredibly amazing now, will be like a 270 on. that might be kinda confusing, but what im trying to say is that people will progress the sport slowly, but mearly perfect it

wow, so did I. But I don't think things are gonna get that much bigger, just because of the insane risk involved. I think there'll be more creative and difficult setups though, and i'm sure some new tricks will be created.

Wow... if people were doing all of that shit, I'd just buy really old skis and do the same stuff as now. It's like Golf these days... if the equipment makes it that much easier, what the hell is the point?

150 ft zero spins and stall out 720/900 where you do the first spin, or spin and a half and then stall, change the grab for the stall and change back and complete the trick, hold the stall/tweak crazy long and release right before you touch the snow. Rails will be used in landings and cornices as we have seen some of already.

or newschool skiing is at a standstill for the next 20 to 40 years, your knees can only take a certain amount of force (ie landsings), after that you can't go any bigger till some Material Engineer comes up with some of the things you guys posted. and you can only spin so fast and make it look smooth. i really don't see tricks progressing as much as they have in the past 9 years, again for a long time, it was a deff surge of skiing inovation.

u think it might not progress trick-wise but in a different direction such as the base jump skiin gin focused





I promoted my CVS and Stop and Shop card from the inside slits to the outside ones...my Blockbuster and gym ID got pissed off, but I told them, sorry guys, laminated plastics just can't cut it in the big leagues
