Looking for a one-ski quiver

Hey there,
First of all I apologize if this is a repetitive thread, I skimmed, but this may be a repost.

Anyway, I recently broke the binding on my afterbangs and rather than spend money on new bindings for skis that are a bit too small for me, I'm looking to get my hands on a one-ski quiver.

I ski 80% park and 20% powder, when its available. I don't hit jumps bigger than your average 20-30 footers, I'm more into rails and jibs and the like.

I'm trying to get away from a fully park-specific ski, hopefully moving on to something wider than the afterbang. I was looking at maybe getting some SFB's but I don't know if they're quite what I'm looking for because I ski mostly in the park. I've been skiing Lines for about 5 seasons now, and I've been really impressed by them, but I'm not against buying from another company.

Any recommendations or advice is much appreciated.

This or next years s5's sound good for you. Only difference is next years have a slight rocker, start right in front of the binding, and no camber. It actually works really well and is awesome for park, jibbing, and pow. Other skis in the category are s4's, s6's, kung fujas, jmos, pb&j's, chronic cryptonites, ect.

wrong. ON3P is not the only manufacturer that makes a good one ski quiver ski.



I say Volkl Wall, Moment Reno, 4frnt MSP, Boone skis, there's tons of options.

No, Reno Jibs are not a good 1 ski quiver. They are pretty bad at anything else other than park. Moment PB&J.

Most of the suggestions above are way too "all round" for you if you ski 80% park at a decent level. Get something about 90mm mid-flex and no rocker or only slight rocker, something like the original no-rocker Fujas (08/09) or maybe the 09/10, Cryptonite, Punisher, you get the idea. Mount center or -1, or get Schizos.

ok mr all-knowing Moment master. he skis 80% park, i don't really consider that qualifying for a true all-mtn ski brah. why would they not be good outside the park? it's a fuckin ski and it turns...

All the advice is much appreciated.
I'm leaning towards Jeronimo's or maybe PB&J's.
I'm also going to see if my local shop has any of last year's (I guess this years) SFB's because I wouldn't mind having a symmetrical ski, because I'm so used to it. (if SFB's aren't symmetrical, I'm gonna feel like an idiot.)

To the OP, skis you have been suggested are pretty different than the SFB. I'd really get on a pair of skis that are mid 90 to 105 underfoot, probably with rocker and camber since thats what you're gravitating towards, and see how it rides. You can hone in on what will work best for you after you figure out what sort of stiffness you tend to like on this kind of ski. Pretty much EVERY company out there makes something that could be considered a one ski quiver for a skier that enjoys the park but doesnt spend every minute of the day in there, so the world is your oyster.

i mean, i'm not gunna jump on their dick, but i do know from talking to both Sean and Erik that they did have construction problems for a period of time. A local tahoe company, (Praxis, i think?) gave them some construction pointers though, and supposedly they haven't had any structural problem since then.

so you're gunna take one guy's opinion because he got a defective pair of skis and voided his warrentee as a basis for every ski they make? all companies make defective skis sometimes.

i got mine straight from Erik Boone's garage for $275 and they've lasted me all season and are in perfect condition.

You don't need our advice so much as you need to just shop around and take your pick. There are so many skis for your purposes.

K2 Kung Fujas or the 11-12 Recoil.  Recoil will be  more park specific at 90 underfoot, so if you are looking to ski outside the park more next year check out the Kung Fu's at 102 underfoot.  They are the real one ski quiver - super playful and fun for butters while still able to hold steady at high speed on firm snow.  the All-Terrain Rocker makes it so they have some nice float in pow, but they still have camber underfoot.  Long story short, you can lap the park like a champ and/or take them to zones on the upper mountain and you'll destroy it in either kind of terrain without having to run to the car and switch skis.    Best of both worlds right there.

yes. they have the same camber as this years s6, witch kill the park and are a little narrower making them the ultimate ski........


i have not heard from anyone who has tried them yet

Volkl bridge!! Flat camber with early rise either end, kill it on groomers, float well in pow. Only possible downside is they are stiff so unless you are a big guy it's hard to butter but I'm only 130lb and cN just about deal with them. Also has no edges tip and tail to save weight, overall very very light ski. Love mine.

This. I'm a ski tester for Freeskier and rode them last week. (Kangbang prob saw them when they were posted on my fb. HA!) But they were super fun.

Rossi makes all kinds of skis that fit what you're looking for. I love my s3s, they're really light and fun, stable on jumps and rails..
