Anyone shredding the Saas Fee glacier this summer? Just trying to gauge if any fellow NSers will be out there. Summer parks just aren't the same when they're full of ski school trains.
Sort of irrelevant, but ive been in Saas all winter, and the way the snow is disappearing, its going to be pretty shitty on the glacier this summer. Apparantly its been their worst winter ever...
going to les deux alpes, cheaper and they have a better park imo.
yea but the snow sucks big time this winter. youll have to go early.
im going at the beginning of july. lets hope theres still some snow left, not jus ice and water...
didnt like the park that much, but it was 2 years ago. kinda small, i.e. few obastacles. les deux alpes looks really huge with loads of different shit. probably 4-5x the amount of obstacles
I was planning on going to one of the European glaciers this summer, but I might not bother anymore just because of the snow, save the trip for next year. Mammoth however has been shat on this winter and is now supposed to stay open til July the 4th.
Dachstein has a decent park as well. This year's opening will already be on Saturday (April 16th) because of the bad snow condition in the lower ski resorts.
Alps have had such bad snow cover compared to previously years, even in the prime season you had to go pretty high up for good snow. When i was in Tignes there was only one day of powder and that was really lucky...
I was thinking about going on the camp to Saas Fee but probably won't now.
Me for certain. And I'll probably bring a contingent of kids from the UK along too. The only question is where to go.
I would really like somewhere that has decent snow, but especially somewhere that has a good park, specifically a rail garden. Nothing quite like summer rails and slushy booters
I don't even mind if it's open too long after midday. I'm happy to ski 7am -12pm, then ride DH in the afternoon or something. Snow and park are my only concerns tbh
