The man was a genius, and a visionary. It's too bad NASA gobbles up money like nobodies business and has been terrible at public relations since 1958, otherwise we probably would have done some pretty amazing things in space already. (Not to discount the Apollo landings or space station either...but to hell with the space shuttle.) Space is unbelievable, and the simple question of what is out there is enough to bring my entire thought process to a standstill.
when you go to get the embed code of the youtube video right underneath it check the box that says "use old embed code" and then just copy and paste that into the little videoembedcode button when you reply to a thread
The whole pale blue dot picture is absurd. Hard to believe that we launched something into space, literally just to send it in one direction and see where it went.
yea, the primary mission of voyager 1 has been over for 31 years, but they still transmit info back, so its still working. Apparently it will still be able to communicate and run til late 2020s. Ridiculous.
It's still incredible that it got so far, if only it had more updated technology aboard, then maybe it could have been the first thing to visit another solar system, and still have communications.
there was a video in the vimeo thread that used this voice over. i didnt even know it was this guy till just now. but even when you hear what he said in the first video, in another, its just as powerful.
