4bi9 Media "Guacamole Frydaze 11" LAME!

Just watched 4bi9 media's most recent installment of their guacamole frydaze episodes. I generally get a kick out of them. They kinda make 4bi9 look really unprofessional with their content and questionable production quality, but hey, any coverage is good coverage right? Maybe not always...

Anyways, this episode chronicles gaper day at PC. However, 4bi9 for some reason decided it would be a good idea to turn gaper day into "making fun of the queens cup" day.

The queen's cup was a really awesome event for girls because it really pushed them to step their game up, and they really did! They are pushing the sport really hard right now in the right direction, and making fun of it is just rude. I don't understand why guys need to make fun of girls skiing so much.

Lindsayjibber is absolutely correct! you guys are idiots... this is so awful that they would make fun of women's freeskiing like this. How are we supposed to progress if we don't even have the support of our fellow skiers? Shit like this makes me so angry!!!!

Let me put it this way. Have you ever had a guy go up to you on the slopes and say "hey, you suck at skiing because you're a girl"? I'm guessing you haven't. It's the internet.
Also, who the hell goes to the internet for support? There is little to no park scene at my mountain, and nobody to watch do a trick that you're trying to learn, but my friends and I have progressed just fine. Including a girl that is more than capable of keeping up with the guys at our mtn. Because she doesn't have that "I'm different" mentality. She just goes out to have fun

Yes, I have heard guys say stuff like "chicks can't ski park" and shit like that. We have a different learning curve, our bodies are different, we can't always do the same stuff that guys can. We're always ripped on for being just barely as good as 12 year olds - it's different if you're talking about how an individual person sucks (which still is NOT nice not matter what the circumstance)... when it's generalizing to a gender it's just wrong.


And I am special because I'm a woman. So pffft.

but here's the thing, they probably didn't say it to anyone directly. My aunt raced in college and is probably a better skier than 80% of the guys on this website outside the park/backcountry. Guys also say girls can't drive, but I know a lot of girls that drive very well.

And I'm pretty sure a lot/all of the guys in 4bi9 are friends with at least one girl. They weren't making fun of it at all.

girls should learn to ignore the hate and learn to have fun. all that matters is youre proud about what youre doing out there and enjoying yourself. so what if someone hates? im sure the pro females arent letting it get to them. 4bi9 was just having some fun with skiing. i suggest you should try the same

Another example of men discriminating or making fun of women. It's stupid. Support shouldn't have to be earned, everyone should always be trying to support each other no matter what. I am so upset that there are other girls posting in here that are against what lindsay and I talking about... the least we could expect is to have some form of support from our fellow females. Ugh!

Your taking this WAY to seriously. 20 bucks says a majority of the 4bi9 riders have ridden with multiple females from that comp and seshed stuff, helped out, and had a good time. You watch one video and think everyone is trying to put down womens skiing. I enjoyed this video and T-walls backflip that was about 40 feet to deep. However i fully support womens skiing. Marley Rodwick and Maggie Voison hometown girls and they kill it so watch out.

This thread is great, so many feminist comments. There out there having fun and joking around. Its great there is so much progression in womens freestyle skiing. And we can leave it at that.

Also to the guy who said support is earned I disagree with, you should always support people as long as they actually try their hardest and don't really worry about getting wrecked. Respect however is earned and so far I don't respect many female park skiers because they let their mind get in the way of their progression.

Please explain to me why you guys shouldn't have to earn respect? You're making it seem like since there is girl freeskiers, they automatically deserve respect. Respect for what? I get it you guys are slow progressing and girls skiing will probably never reach the level men our on but I mean, come on. I'd be willing to bet that all those girl skiers out there would progress twice as fast if they didn't feel like they were always being looked down on by all you assholes!

Saying its sexist is ridiculous. I've seen so many things hated on, on NS its ridiculous. Even Tom Wallisch gets hated on. If you arent perfect people are going to make fun of you. And because no one is perfect there is always a little something to make fun of. The fact that it was a stab at girls skiing doesnt make it sexist.
